Most artists are horrible live (At least compared to their studio versions.) It's like they sing it really well once, by luck, and then say "That's it, put it on a CD" and from then on every time they do it it's horrible. Kansas did it the right way, it was equally well performed each time.

I discovered Kansas in the mid-70s and saw them a dozen times over the years. They are one of the tightest, most passionate live bands you will ever see. Indoors, outdoors, small halls, stadiums, or with and orchestra, they bring it every time. Their music is so much more than their two hits. Go see them. They will still blow you away.

I would just like to say that, yes, we do know that music like this existed before a TV show or movie, but for lots of Supernatural fans, the show has just gotten us interested in this genre of music. Most of us actually do like the song for the song itself, not because of what it relates to.
