Hey young people, this is what real rock music sounds like.

Trust me, older folks who heard Cyndi Lauper on the radio were saying that listening back to their favourites from the 40s in the early 80s when this came out. There is always amazing amazing music coming out, and very few of the true greats will make their way to you if you aren't involved with the culture around it, so all you are exposed to will be the lame, insufferable chart toppers that you are complaining about here. Though I will concede that algorithmic music recommendations have made this problem worse in the past decade. Everyone is just sort of locked into their personal worlds now, which makes it even harder for great stuff to hit it big.

We were in boarding school living in a dorm and they kindly asked me to sing a couple of other songs once in awhile . It was this and a tape I had of Prince singing "I could never take the place of your man". Remember those tapes with just one song on each side? It was that kind of tape and I played it over and over and over. When I love a song I LOVE a song. I'm a singer so I love it when people sing really well and I love this guy's voice! I love "Corridors"from this guy, he's a great singer. I don't know if he's a Jesus-like type Christian with humility, as his songs on Mastedon's Lofcaudio and his singles work are an inspiration, but I hope and pray so. I don't see Christ in a lot of the fundamentalist and bigoted religious types, but when I find people who are as loving and humble as Christ, I see His love in motion!

Happy Birthday Kerry Livgren born on September 18, 1949. He is an American musician, best known as one of the founding members and primary songwriters for the American rock band Kansas. Livgren was a member of numerous bands in the late 1960's and early 1970's and quickly developed a reputation for complex compositions and poetic lyrics that explored spiritual themes. His investigations into various religions are reflected in the lyrics of his songs on Kansas' first six albums. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerry_Livgren

This is a great song. Kansas is a band I always wanted to see live but never did. My loss.

Jon Elefante was a good choice to replace Steve Walsh, but Steve will always be the voice of Kansas to me. 💕

My favorite Kansas song of all time. And I didn't realize who was the lead vocalist for this until just a few years ago.

For me, it was today. I could've sworn up and down and all around that Walsh was the singer on this song. Like I said, I just found out today that it wasn't Steve so I'm blown away. 🤯! but pleasantly surprised. He does an exceptional job i must admit.

This might be an underrated album to some extent as well as Drastic Measures but Kansas would never recover after Steve Left during the recording of this album. Then Robbie left even before the recording of Drastic Measures. Then Kerry & Dave leave after the tour in support of this album. The band would never recover as far as their previous successes.

I really like what they did 2:10 to 2:30. One might expected a typical long instrumental bridge (guitar solo) to a chorus repeat, but it’s just a couple measures of guitar then violin, then right back to the singer. Unexpected!
