Thank you for not being afraid to show jump shooting, that's how I've gotten a majority of my ducks growing up with very limited opportunities.

Same with me, I just started my first season last fall, and its already gone, it was like a blink of an eye. Mine starts in October, but that is still 7 1/2 months

I have spent a great deal of time in Kansas hunting pheasants and turkeys and I absolutely love it there. Just something about the place.

Born and raised in kansas, I knew it was a very prominent state for white tail , I didn't know it was so renowned for waterfowl. Can't wait untill opening day in a few days!

Great episode. I feel your pain. We hunted Kansas the same time as you. With about the same results. Warm weather can’t be controlled. Our outfitter took care of us like family and we made friends and memories

You have put a lot of work into your dog, and it shows. When I had my working dogs it doubled my enjoyment for shooting. My Spaniels would also track deer for me.👍👍

I really appreciate this episode - its nice to see a more realistic example of duck hunting - seeing this kind of thing helps me want to stay in the game as a new waterfowl hunter who is having trouble putting alot of birds down and wondering what I am doing wrong.

Also this was exactly my experience as a new hunter - only shot 2 of 20 ducks I got in the season on decoys and all the others were jump shooting or even sneaking through wetlands to get within range of sitting ducks.

I'd like to give the long awaited congratulations to MeatEater on finally breaking 1M subscriptions. Took far too long in my opinion. This channel should have 10M + easily. 2 years ago at least. Congratulations regardless. Loving this series.

This is accurate and realistic of what to expect in KS. The internet has made KS to seem like some Mecca of waterfowl. If you travel here, be expecting these types of hunts

One thing this series, and MeatEater in general, has me thinking is that I should be plucking my ducks. We've only ever just breasted them.

My buddy and i did our first ever mallard plucked over top an open fire stuffed and basted with sliced oranges. Was my introduction to plucked ducks.

Last October for Wisconsin opener I hunted the Mississippi River near Alma in shorts , no shoes , no shirt, covered in bug spray . With a pole in the water catching bluegills within 10 feet of our decoys lol

I must say, although I appreciate and enjoy watching this series and the true authenticity that comes from this series, as someone who is trying to get into bird hunting, it’s very disappointing to see even the professionals aren’t getting even a decent amount of birds..

We were staying across the street from you guys during this trip. The hunting was the worst it’s ever been. We ended up walking pheasants as well. It’s been that way the last few years, so we are shifting out our timing in 22. Better luck next time!

Cool to see you guys in my home state. We skunked on pheasant this year, I didn't even see many doves. Was not a good bird year. I've never been waterfowl hunting but want to try to get into geese a little bit, hopefully next year will be better

You guys and gals gotta come to Ontario. Das boat series will be ripping. All the fish. Bass, pike,muskie,perch, trout , salmon, 18 point whitetail isn't unheard of. Stupid amount of turkey. I actually hit 6 in my car in the fog 4 weeks ago. Wrote the car off. But I filled the freezer. Let's go. Steve. Janis. Ryan. And all behind the scenes who do wonders. Let's go.

Kansas waterfowling was really odd this year, didn’t really start getting lots of geese until January and we still had all speckle bellies until December, pretty much only shot teal during duck season

Is this around Cheyenne Bottoms Refuge? Trying to figure this one out. First of all, hills in Kansas, narrows it down. Also, knocking on doors here in Kansas rarely works.

I hunted in 75-80°F weather for ducks in Kansas this year. Very poor hunting, but there were still a few birds around. Went home with a few
