After listening to this and last weeks I believe Taylor's problem with this beef has to do with the core of Hip Hop. The core of Hip Hop is based on Poetry, especially black poetry and struggle. Her issue with Drake looks to stem from watching a Canadian Jewish Actor subvert the genre, originally of Black American expression, with primarily Hoe Music. People blindly doge the fact that he's had a ghost writer for his work in the past. The WORST thing you can accuse a Hip Hop artist or even Poet of. Legitimizing you as an imposter. No different than your favorite athlete taking steroids or a developer who steals his code. Only in the last 4 years during his entire career has he been claiming the Mean Streets of Toronto as a 'thing'. Yet he seems to have beaten the charges simply by the popular vote. You have to understand it's frustrating for her to watch hundreds of millions of people back Drake. A person who doesn't make is own music just because he sells it well. As opposed to Kendrick, a person who's poetry comes from his pen his experience and his struggle. The way Hip Hop was intended to be. Solely by the numbers it does look almost hopeless for Kendrick to "win" this beef based on the number of fans and stans for Drake. We saw this in the past with Nas v Jay-Z and Pusha T v Drake. In the end true Hip Hop culture knows where to stand.
