@Retain your seed and be a king same here. He’s always been a huge inspiration but I never knew why until I got diagnosed with bipolar 1 and severe panic attacks. Now he’s even a bigger inspiration Bc look how far he came, he never let his mental health stop him from chasing his dream, he always believed in himself when literally no one else did. Ye is forever the goat and knowing his struggle with mental health just makes his accomplishments even better

I agree. That may be part of his bipolar. The brain does not function the same as people without bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is different for everyone but in some people it does have the capacity to affect how you think, talk, perceive and react to things which makes sense because it is a disease of the brain.

I feel really really sorry for him, especially not having his mother around in these times. He definitely has not been able to get over his mother's death, and find a robust way of grieving and putting his other emotions into perspective. I believe throwing himself into his art is the only way he has dealt with it. He is a fantastic artist and person, but he must understand that, why this Maybe out of his control, he must find the fortitude to look for a therapist compartible with his values that he can. and must trust, to help him deal with it safely and productively. I wish him the utmost success and the very best in life. Many Cheers Kanye!

@XSilentWizardX I've met many bipolar people before. Kanye may be bipolar BUT he is AN EXTREME NARCISSIST FIRST AND FOREMOST. Please educate yourself on "abusive narcissism" before you are duped again by a narcissist in real life. Kanye uses "Bipolar" the description for a mental illness as an attempt to overshadow and dismiss the blantently obvious real problem- his disgusting arrogance, delusional inflated ego and abusive narcissism. Those who disagree need to educate themselves on Narcissistic Personality Disorder. People with NPD are not victims ..they victimize and actively try to humiliate others amongst other kinds of abuse. He's just manipulating the public (and you) here (another trait of NPD-manipilation). It's sick how many uneducated ppl idolize this, over allll the other positive black male superstars.

Regardless of how hard it gets, when we lose him to the mania and the psychosis and all that remains of my brother is his outer shell, he always comes back to us, we have to fight so hard to get him back each time it takes longer but myself and our family love him so unconditionally and as long as anyone with bipolar has a strong support system they will thrive.

This interview is great because it truly embraces Kanye for who is as a person. In times like today where media controls a lot of what we think and say, the overall vibe of this section is how we need to approach people in general, regardless of if they are friends or foes. I love Kanye because he loves himself and he is one of the only truly positive and genuine people in this world that actually give a damn about his passions and people that he holds dear. I hate to frame it this way, but I can't wait to see how the world will view Kanye when he's gone because sometimes it's hazy in the moment of his actions but when it happens, people will start to truly appreciate Kanye and will use him as a figure for the youth and those that aren't in power with themselves, whether that be from mental illness or lack of motivation. I am so glad that I live at this time period where Kanye has done so much and impacted so many people and has impacted me at such a young age where I can get inspired by him and still continue to grow. Thank you Kanye for showing me that the world isn't just black and white but is a rainbow of excellence and if we unite together, we can create something beautiful that my kids and their kids will show and pass on.

I agree that he needs help but at the same time I am sure many people offered help and he refused. He is kind of narcissistic so he thinks he knows everything and shouldn't have to listen to others. Also there are so many people worse off than him that need help, he has plenty of opportunity and means to get help. Most people don't.

We are not our illnesses; someone can't be Bipolar, just like someone can't be cancer. As a member of the bipolar club I am so grateful that he is open to talking about it. It’s so difficult just cruising through my average life and navigating all it throws at you and how the world views you, to be ridiculously famous with media in your face and revolting gossip mags making up stories to make money from your illness must be incredibly difficult for him and his family. I have never been a huge Kanye fan I can totally appreciate his amazing talent and what he has brought to the music world. I am not a Kim fan either but I do admire her strength and support for him as this illness is a family destroyer.

I don't agree with him on much, but if you are not bipolar, you just can't imagine what our brains are like - on and off meds. His album title is 100% true, it gives us some experiences no one else has (natural euphoric mania is a high no drug can come close to). I don't like his politics, but for him to live his life so publicly, gives America an understanding of mania like y'all have not had before. He's not someone I want representing me politically, but he is an amazing artist and his creative mind deserves respect. I wish he wouldn't romanticize his mania, but I do the same... God bless you, Kanye, for being an authentic and inspiring voice for bipolar people.

I got diagnosed bipolar a month and a half ago, I was at my high trying to escape from my life traveling at 120km/per hr in a 60 zone running red lights, I crashed after a red light and attempted to steal two cars, I remember asking for their cars because it's an emergency but nothing else really after. Facing these charges now and have never hurt a fly in my life, this video gives me hope someone somewhere and hopefully the judge knows I would never do these things normally, it's a demon and struggle in your mind daily, huge respect for this man facing it in the public eye especially with his face I could not even imagine

Kanye really touched on something very important here... when we suppress our true feelings or are afraid to reveal something about ourselves (something that society tells us is not normal, not status quo, or something that society says we should be ashamed of) we give it power over us and it takes hold. I suffer from anxiety and for a long time I was ashamed of that fact, but when I finally stopped trying to hide it, it eventually lost some of its hold and power over me. Those suppressed thoughts and feelings are toxic and can harm us mentally and physically (they can eat us alive). Another example is at a very young age I experienced hair loss ...at the time as a young woman in my 20s it was something I was ashamed of, so I tried to conceal it even more (my hair loss was at peak during this time).. after I began to reveal my struggle with it and admitted to it outwardly, some of my hair slowly started to return... it never grew back fully, but I killed the power it had over me, by being ashamed of it and constantly trying to conceal it. So many people were scared to reveal their support for Trump... but why does society get to control us in that way... it is completely unhealthy to suppress those feelings and beliefs.

Breaking stigmas? He's causing them. I've met many bipolar people before. He may be bipolar BUT he is AN EXTREME NARCISSIST FIRST AND FOREMOST. He uses "Bipolar" the description for a mental illness as an attempt to overshadow and dismiss the blantently obvious real problem- his disgusting arrogance, delusional inflated ego and abusive narcissism. Those who disagree need to educate themselves on Narcissistic Personality Disorder. People with NPD are not victims ..they victimize and actively try to humiliate others amongst other kinds of abuse. He's just manipulating the public (and you) here-which is another trait of NPD-manipation. He's openly psychologically abusive to other celebrities (using humiliation) It's sick how many uneducated ppl idolize this. They won't when they are duped by an abusive Narcissist in their own life. That's when they'll look up NPD, when it's too late.
