I agree. I’m not sure what the competition was repping on DL, but I imagine Haack was leading and may have been able to leave a few in the tank, to conserve energy. Other than that experience and technique were the primary limitations.

You might be surprised. Holding the bag higher puts the force on the diaphragm, making it harder tp breathe. I qould have used John's technique, personally. And John failed the 11th rep on DL.

Excellent performance! With your bench you should be strong enough to press 160kg+(I bench 190kg and can do 130kg in the log push press),but that comes with time. That 290kg axle for reps would put the best u105s to shame. Solid moving events as well. Keep going! You might be the u90kg strongest man in the world some day!

Yeah his loglift is surprisingly weak for his strength. I hope he continue to train it as a side lift for shoulders year around. Just go down on intensity when focusing on powerlifting.

@@D9Wx it takes time to develop overhead press..I was benching 170-172kgs when I switched to strongman..could do 105-110kg out the gate....but I needed more practice to get to 130kgs

The main issue with his log is that he doesn't have a proper rack position. If he gets that down, I see him winning major shows.

The axel forces the weight out farther in front of you. It’s more about poor leverages then testing grip. Grip gets tested in the farmer carry
