Rode one of these here in Australia when I was 15, the guy down the road bought it brand new and I think he still has it in the shed.

I was a Kawi mechanic back in the day. The first Bighorn I ever started up actually started running backwards. If I recall, this one (early 70's) had a standard carb on it. The bike was awesome. When it was running in the forward direction of course! lol

Wow, this sure brings back memories from 35yrs ago almost to the month..i was king of my neighborhood at the time with my '84 XR250 & the kid next door got a Bighorn like this and the hood really made him feel good that he was gonna blow me into the weeds, and the drag race was set for the next day..the way everyone built up that Bighorn i knew i better be on my game. The next day everyone gathered and frowned at me drive up for the big drag race challenge..we lined up, revved our machines, and we were off..or at least i was, absolutely NO challenge as my 2nd carb opened up & by time i was in 4rth he was way back there and it turned out i remained undoubted king of the hood until the other neighbor got an 87 TT 225, and whipped my XR in drag race, so i did the only thing left to do, got an '84 XR500, i was king again, lol.

I also had three Yamahas too when I was a kid I had a lot of dirt bikes but the best one I had was the 3360 MX and the 500 Open class racer but they were like YC's back then really cool buddy I watch your channel now and then keep up the good work

You've had most of my old bikes on this channel. My Big Horn I got used in 1975, then I traded it for a new Yamaha 400 Enduro in 76, then I traded that for a New YZ 400 monoshock as soon as I could get one. They all threw rocks as big as your fist, and no one wanted to ride behind me. Most everybody else rode 250's at the time.

Love that vintage 2 stroke enduro, particularly it's yellowish/greenish paintjob. It would be alot of fun to ride on trails. It's a shame because of what dirtbikes and enduros cost these days, that the bike manufacfurers don't pay as much attention to detail, when it comes to making their bikes, compared to what they did in the 70's, nor are the paintjobs as good as what they were in the 70's.
