Sam Adam C. It was a still Baldur because he prob blew the horn thinking he could use the world serpent to help him find the duo or at the very least make them coming running as well. That didn’t happen, so he later figures on venting his frustration and hurting the serpent so they definitely would come to him!!

I don't think it's Atreus from the future. He doesn't have time travling abilities. It might have been Tyr, he could've been living in secret somewhere and he just appeared to warn the world serpent about an upcoming event and used the unity stone to go back in his hideout. Hela can't leave helheim, odin woudlnt do that sort of work himself. Thor no for sure cause he appears years later. Best guess is Tyr because there is a chance he survived and he is close friends with the giants. He calls the serpent and goes back to Jotunheim to hide untill "the time comes when gods grow good.". He could could be protecting some last few remaining giants.

I doubt your theory about Tyr, cuz we saw murals depicting him chained and imprisoned by Thor and Odin. I really doubt that Odin and Thor gave Tyr a holliday vacation to roam around other lands and worlds haha. It could possibly be future Atreus imo because if I'm not mistaken, during Ragnarok Jormungandr is knocked back in time even before his birth from his clash with Thor, and considering Atreus and Kratos might fight Thor as well come Ragnarok, they could have gotten caught up with Jormungandr and sent back in time as well, just one of my theories though, I could be wrong

I believe the mural depicts Surtur. As you can clearly see the giant sword that he wields and the RED background. Also his skin is all black like charcoal. There is also red jewels in different places in the mural. To finish it, all representations of Surtur have a beard and sometimes gold armor.

There's a horror element to all of this i feel. The fact the horn was blown when Atreus fell ill, and the fact we know for a FACT that it was NOT Baldur who blew the horn (confirmed by Cory himself) leaves only two serious options. 1) There is something sinister at play here - a third party hunting down or simply tracking Kratos and Atreus. 2) SOMEONE that traveled back in time blew the horn... was it future Atreus/Kratos? Thor? Odin? Freya? Shoot, Faye perhaps?

It might be Heimdall. But there's one problem: if you look at his boots, they have straps just like Kratos' before he got Hermes' boots in gow3 and picture on temple is depicted in some sort of dagger, just like one that Kratos gived to Atreus. Therefore, i think boots are greek origin, and that man on temple is Atreus from future, spawning Jorgumandur and signaling the begging of Ragnarok. I know that according to mythology it was Heimdall who signaled the begging of the Ragnarok, but Santa Monica is known to make pivotal moments and tell mythology in their own way, just like Baldur was killed by mistletoe attached to Atreus' bow strap.

For me, it just brings another indicator for Tyr being the one, bc in the story when you made it to his chamber, they described Tyr as the peace & justice bringer who travelled through multiple ”worlds” to achieve that, just as all the gifts he got from those cultures. Here's my guess for the next game; Freya will be a villain, she'll be using Seior magic in attemp to break Odin's curse and to have her revenge on Kratos. they say that Kratos blew the horn from his future self using the heimdall's horn to do so, but they sound completely different. When Kratos was taking Atreus to Freya, Mimir said that somebody just called the serpent, so it has to be it. I have waited so much to see who effectively blew the horn but i left kinda disapointed. In my view, developers scrapped the ideia they had when Gow 2018 was released

That’s not really the case, if you noticed the Jorm we see fighting Thor is much younger, it’s the serpent Atreus put the giants soul into. Ang made a comment by the next visit about just how much he grew. He’s Giant size but noticeably younger with no beard, this means the Jorm from 2018 remained in Midgard. The serpent gets sent back to many years before 2018 which is why he’s older and also recognizes Atreus. They’ve really created a paradox here. I agree it’s a shame but it really feels like they kinda just retconned this interesting possible time travel plot with one that creates more questions & more headaches.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the game looks fantastic in every aspect, but it seems the game went to a different way they originally planned, like the first one it's in a different pace, things happen in a slow pace and that it's just perfect, explaning everything and creating mysteries that could be explained with more cautions in following games. The norse saga could be more interesting and explaning one thing at a time, if they did a 3rd game, it'd be nice to see Thor as a ally, or at least showing more of him for example

Well here's a few ideas that may bring us more understanding or clues as to who blew the horn: 1. In the 3rd and final showdown with Baldur, he said when came out of the water: "I knew that harming the big snake would bring the two of you out in the open." Now how does Baldur know there's a connection between the World Serpent and Atreus + Kratos? And is this knowledge that there *IS* a connection between Kratos + Atreus with the World Serpent linked to whoever blew the horn to call the Serpent? Were they trying to find out where Kratos was? 2. When word of Magni dying to the hands of Kratos got out, Modi was tasked by the Thor and the Aesir to kill Kratos to prove himself after losing to Kratos the first time and to earn mjolnir (Thor's hammer) and to avenge his brother's death, that's why he says in Tyrs vault that Kratos ruined everything by killing Magni because everybody is going to think that he will get mjolnir because Magni died. So Modi called the Serpent to find out about Kratos' whereabouts (because Tyrs vault is in the lake of nine where the world serpent is) but he got destroyed and retreated to the mountain because the Serpent doesn't like Odin, Thor and assumingly, anyone associated with them (AESIR) 3. During the journey to Freya's house, the sky goes red and lightning and thunder starts happening. This may be due to Thor arriving in Midgard to look for Kratos. Mimir says on the journey "Odin's eye is on you brother, especially now that you have taken a liking to killing his kin." Thor is now looking for Kratos but doesn't find him because he has the protection stave that Freya put on his neck in the beginning of the game and that being in the Witch's cave was a 'blindspot' for the Aesir as Mimir mentions. So Thor encounters Modi while looking for Kratos (or wanting to speak to Mimir at the *top of the mountain* to find out where Kratos would be) and gives him a thrashing and Modi retreats to the *bottom of the mountain*. 4. Remember the sky goes red with Thunder and lightning again when Atreus has been cured and he starts to become arrogant and rude with Sindri by the 'Foothills'? That may signify Thor being close by, probably by the mountain where he thrashes Modi for failing to deal with Kratos. I really do believe the presence of lightning and thunder is linked to the presence of Thor as he is the 'God of Thunder' *IMPORTANT NOTE* remember the cutscene at the end of the game, when Thor arrives to Kratos' house and the Sky is red along with Thunder and Lightning so that why I believe there is a link between the sky going red with Thunder and lightning with Thor's presence. 5. Does the horn have any other purpose other than corresponding with the World Serpent? If it doesn't, Then the theory of Heimdal blowing the horn to signal Ragnarok or Sutyr, Tyr or anyone else blowing the horn for any other reason except to speak to the world serpent doesn't really make sense. Whoever blew the horn clearly wanted information from the World Serpent. 6. Remember Mimir said when he was imprisoned in the tree that Odin sees to it personally that he is tortured? Well maybe Odin along with other Aesir came to see Mimir regarding information about Magni's death and what that signifies and where Kratos + Atreus would be but sees that Mimir's head is severed from the tree and tells a faction of the Aesir to blow the horn and speak to the world serpent (maybe disguised so that the world serpent won't realise they are Aesir?) I think there may be more clues as to who blew the horn in the novel version of the game. Sad that this game doesn't haven't any DLC and we'll have to wait 2 years for the sequel....

Well a couple things, Modi attacked Kratos and Arreus pre the horn blowing. It was after Kratos was rushing to Freya that soemone blew the horn as they were in the elevator. So it wasn't Modi since he already found them but ran away, and also it was roght after that so if it was an Aesir Modi would have told them they were just here and it wouldn't be a problem for Odin to figure out the one olace they can hide from him. Freya's hut. So it wasn't an Aesir either, at least not one that favors Odin, which is little to none. Another thing is the red skies has been confirmed by Cory himself, that is Loki's doing. He said in the commentary that the world is reacting to Loki's power being awakened. It has nothing to do with Thor nor any other God. Also is very simple for the Aesir to figure out why the Serpent is connected to them. Since they appeared the tenple has been lifted, the serpent has been chillim not attackong anybody, so its sage to say the serpent is cool with them, and... Odin's eyes are everywhere. He may not be able to pinpoint them for a time, but he can see around them and what their actions led to and all of what they have changed. Its why Baldur was never too far off from them, they were predicting their moves, and Odin was seeing all of it take place.

Getting angry and actually finally unleashing his powers are drastically different. That's why. Obviously Thor beat up his own son, but what does that matter? The Aesir are around, but it was clear this was Baldur's task. Thor wasn't going to step in, Odin wasn't going to step in. It was Baldur's mission and his nephews. My guese is, once a major Aesir died in Baldur, Odin and Thor most likely went. "HOW!? What just happened!?"

The horn in the image is small, the lines coming out of it represent the sound, since you can’t show sound through an image. The jewels on his chest are part of a shoulder/chestplate, the same jewels are on the sword. Is that part of the horn as well? 😂 All of this is predicated on that so it’s all wrong, it’s Heimdall blowing the Gjallarhorn. Whoever blows the horn that summons the Jörmungandr isn’t represented in that image.

Literally the only thing to have been said to have travelled through time is Jormungandr, after allegedly being hit so hard by mjolnir that he was knocked backwards in time. No reason to think characters are travelling through time by other means.

@@KaptainKuba The only problem with that is that odin has him watched and remember odin has ravens watching everything that is going on in midgard , for tyr to summon the serpent and talk to him would require time. Odin would have had catches him by the time. I fell like their more to this , I do have some theory but can't make a final response without proof or clues. Also for the tree to split again you have to have a force equal to that of the hit of mjolnir in the battle.

I’ve also been thinking it could have been future Atreus. After all it was lightly hinted at that Jormangundr traveled from the future to the past which would make sense seeing as how in the myths the serpent is Atreus’s (Loki’s) son (along with Fenrir and Hel.) which explains why Jorm said that Boy was familiar to him, he was just sent reeaally far into the where he picked up the Primordial language. So Atreus also time traveling isn’t outside the realms of possibility.

I thought the end of the game confirmed that kratos is tyr, he travels to distant realms, fights assier gods, has a good relation with giants, and realizes the cycle of fighting must stop. After the events of game 1 kratos goes on to do all the good deeds we hear about tyr doing during our play through. Also tyr is the god of war just like kratos, it’s just that now kratos understands justice as well making him tyr. That being said I believe it is kratos who blows the horn. It’s a whole time travel thing.
