Bungy jumping in Queenstown, New Zealand has been the highlight of our time in New Zealand. In this vlog you'll see two of Queenstown's most popular bungy jumps, the Nevis Bungy Jump and the Kawarau Bridge Bungy Jump. Both bungy jumps are owned by the AJ Hackett company. They are professionally run, and we felt safe and sound in their hands... sort of. At least as much as you can feel safe while bungee jumping!
We started off our morning in Queenstown with Jordan and Julianne jumping from Kawarau Bridge Bungy Jump. This jump is 43 meters high. It was the first bungy jump to be established in New Zealand. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and you jump in to the turquoise water of the glacial river below!
Kara and I jumped from the Nevis Bungy Jump later that afternoon. The Nevis Bungy is 3 times taller than the Kawarau Bridge Bungy. For this jump you ride a little metal cart out to a small building that's hanging between two mountains. Then you jump from 134 meters above the ground. This is the tallest bungy jump in New Zealand and the 14th tallest in the world!

I've done 2 bungys 2 skydives and 2 wing walks. The 2nd of the two skydives and wing walks were a walk in the park even though my 2nd skydive was 5,000ft higher than my first skydive and my 2nd wing walk included upsidedown manoeuvres. My 2nd bungy was just as scary as my first and they were both done from the same height of 'only' 45 meters. I had to bungy twice because my first one wasn't filmed. So yes bungy is scarier than skydiving. Well it is for me. Most of my extreme exploits can be seen on my KZbin channel.

Hang gliding can sometimes be a fatal experience. My late father's best friend died during a hang gliding flight where the lift just stalled and down. He was experienced and was in his 50s. Sad. But glad all worked out for your friends. You both are brave to bungy-jump!

In defence of NZ holiday parks/camp grounds, the one in Queenstown is a horrible rip off. Most places are a third of what you pay in Queenstown. I know this is 5 years to late but if you are motor camping I would recommend either the top 10 camp ground just out of Queenstown (part of a chain with semi fixed pricing). Or go to the Glennorchy camp ground further up the lake ( a new eco friendly site).
