@@alethiacampbell1365 No offense, that sounds all Kumbaya and all .... But in real life, of course there is a difference between a teenager being "left alone" vs a mid-30's adult, old enough to have finished medical or law school with a child in middle school themselves seeking a bio-parent.... We can be honest or make ish up.....again no offense but 34 is 17 x 2 lifetimes....it's just a different proposition. Of course as a parent ( luckily I still have e both, mine....and a parent of 3 adults) none of mine are even 30 yet BUT truth is 34 and even 18 are night and day differences in whether a "parent" should or shouldn't show up in such a scenario. As a minor = sure....mid 30's = probably PAST that required level of involvement

Sometimes women/young women don't know who the father is, so the embarrassment and shame makes them behave in this way, lying and denying the truth. What a woman needs to understand is as a parent YOU have the responsibility of telling your child who their father is, you should know and if you don't know you have to say that and why or actively find out. It is TOTALLY unacceptable for a child to not know this, regardless of how you may feel.

The most important party to solving a paternity dispute (i.e. the mom) is absent. That's rarely ever a good sign on these paternity shows. The mom is the one who best knows what men and how many men she was dealing with during Brandon's conception. His mom owes him an apology & answers. This should be as much her burden to bear. One episode; two unfit mothers. This is a LOADED segment.

The young man thought that his alleged "father" was being disrespectful to his mother, but I see it differently. I see it as a man who is honest and straight-forward to & about his mom. If the younger man takes a page from the older man's book & be honest to & about his own mom, maybe he could compel his mom to come clean about what and whom she was she doing at the time of conception. One of the most toxic ideas in our community is the notion that an offspring should never challenge their parent (especially their mom), even when the parent is completely in the wrong and doing things that are counterproductive to their child's well-being. Perhaps if this young man had the courage to confront his OWN mom in the same way the older man confronted his, the younger man wouldn't be in his mid-30s (on national TV) almost in tears over not knowing half of his own origins. Every person who challenges their mom isn't being disrespectful. Parents can be as wrong as two left shoes, and children shouldn't have to bear the burden of a parent's wrongfulness out of some duty of unconditional deference.

@tincredible age is used to express that as you reach a certain age, stop allowing your emotions to control how you deal with your problems, which is actually a maturity issue . This episode had so many layers and just breaks my heart, especially for Brandon. These moms got to do better because the child suffers in the end, every time. But- I didn't think dudes' mom was being messy at all. As the potential "grandmother" I think she just wanted to know as well to see if her son had a potential child out there that he was disowning. It's just embarrassing, and I think that is why at the end of the episode Brandon was over it. He has nothing to be ashamed of but his mom definitely has some explaining to do. I pray Brandon get the closure he needs and finds his dad.

That young guy was disrespectful and need to apologize. If his mother is messy, she's messy. Also Brandon doesn't look like him and he's sold on it being his father. Edit: He knew that and his mother is messy.

Damn i feel Brandon's pain. As a black man we'll take the world head on. Address any problem or situation, but when it comes to our mama probably the one thats caused us the most pain we protect or deflect our anger elsewhere. Cause we dont want to "DISRESPECT "them.

I knew Sean wasn't the father from the jump. I don't see a resemblance plus Shawn seemed really sure and honest and kept it cool in the the face of Brandon's unnecessary mouth off. A man says "I am not your father" You have no right to be that confrontational, treat him like a liar, trying to just force the fact on him and embarrassing him when you don't even know 100% yet! Brandon has a lot to learn about character from Shawn. I know he was believing what his mother told him but as a 34 year old man, he should have known better to give benefits of doubts. He had too much to say too soon.

@@brandonjones8295 I’m so sorry. If there’s anything you should remember , it’s that you are valuable and loved regardless of your parental links. You’ve earned none of this confusion and instead deserve clarity on who you are and where you come from.
