I dated a guy who became disgusted with my existence after I gained weight. Actually, he might have just hated everything about me in the end and let me know in more ways than one. The crazy thing is, I met him as someone who went to the gym 5 days a week and he was not Mr fit and skinny. I thought he would be more understanding when I gained weight, I didn't even notice I was gaining because I completely changed my routine to fit his lifestyle. I understand now that that was the wrong move on my part but yeah. It happens and it's terrible and it taught me how poor my relationship with myself is. I'm still working on it but I pray I get to a good place soon.

I don’t understand why people think it’s good to lie to someone by telling them they look good when they’re clearly overweight. Of course the delivery matters and you should never try to hurt the other person’s feelings, but how is it fair to expect him to accept her that way when he met her and fell in love with her when she was looking completely different ? Looks matter because they define attraction. I think it’s okay for a partner could it be man or woman to let his spouse know they are going the off rail and should put some effort into looking better/being healthier. Once again his comments are completely inappropriate and he should work on his delivery.

This is the exact comment I was looking for. His approach was bad, but 60lbs (possibly more based on her question type of response) is not a little weight. I’m a woman and even with knowing I’ll probably have kids one day I feel like it’s my responsibility to take care of myself. If she’s gained all that weight just trying to have a baby and she didn’t stay motivated trying to stay healthy I can only imagine what would happen to her health after a baby. If your weight is a trigger then it should be a motivation to work towards the healthy body that would make her feel comfortable. This is not just targeted towards women, everyone should value their health and body enough to take care of it and understand why their partner might have a hard time with a large amount of weight being gained. Taking care of yourself isn’t something you do for others, it should be something you do because you love yourself enough to want a healthy life for yourself.

So when people I have dealt with hurt me such as cheated with a smaller individual made me feel even low of myself I already felt bad and thinking I’m unwanted or too big or ugly in that matter. But one thing for sure GOD loves me and he loves you can do good all by yourself.
