This new movie is indeed in continuity with the original 4 Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai, and the Jackie/Jaden Karate Kid movie. This movie essentially canonizes the 2010 Jackie/Jaden film. Ralph Macchio said in an interview that this new entry will take place roughly 3 years after the finale of Cobra Kai. The Miyagi-Verse is truly a thing now, and I'm here for it. LOL.

As a lifelong Karate Kid fan, I’m excited to see this! Will Smith said the next step was to bring both Karate Kid worls together…and he did it! If y’all remember, Miyagis family learned karate when his ancestors lived in China…they then moved to Okinawa and made it their own. I guarantee Jackie was his student more likely after Miyagi served in WWII Daniel LaRusso is the perfect example of the student becoming the teacher

@@JaedenVic ... none of that essentially makes a movie "good" lol. It's all muscle, no skeleton. The choreography was better? Yeah, CGI got better from the era of the previous movies. Same goes for the visuals They had to go the distance of making Cobra Kai as a bridge from the original Miyagi-verse to connect to the 2010 one. It's a case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The 2010 movie broke the series, and now here we are desperately trying to make amends to it with Cobra Kai and this upcoming movie.

Nope. In my mind that film does not exist. Especially since it's not even karate that's being taught it's kung fu. In certain countries it's actually called kung fu kid. I love martial arts and this trailer gave me CHILLS. I'm so glad to see this legacy (no pun intended) continuing bc I'm going to miss cobra kai, even tho I think they chose the right time/way to end it without dragging it out so much.
