I find the best combination for movement in kickboxing is a mix of boxing and karate. The fast angle changes of boxing with the fast distance changes of karate makes you very hard to find in the ring.

Taekwondo for long range, Karate for mid-long range, Muay Thai for mid-close range, and boxing for short range. Anything closer than that would involve grappling arts lol.
@killaben853 жыл бұрын
@@mythrin Blitz Karateka actually have a longer engagement distance than Taekwondo practictioners. The most important thing for Taekwondo Practictioners is learning boxing since as Bill Superfoot Wallace (not TKD but a great kicker) said he learned to box for two reasons to get you away from me so I can kick you and to get you away from me so I can kick you but then I learned I had a pretty good jab and hook. Learning Muay Thai or Kyoskushin Leg Kicks and how to fight in the clinch is also always good.

My favorite counter is from a left facing stance(southpaw) step/juke to the right with the lead leg while using the knife edge of my left hand to redirect their lead hand while also dropping into a rightside back stance and launching a reverse punch to their ribs. With practice, the goal is to be fast and fluid. Might even be a kihon. Lol 😅

This is really similar to the foot work that I practiced in taekwondo. The positioning, the guard and the way you keep a constant spacing even when moving is the same. The only difference I see is the use of punches and the way kicks are set up. really cool.

I really liked it, but only thing I would do differently is when moving forward is moving my back leg to front leg then out so I’m not Telegraphing to my opponent that I’m going to attack or move forward.

Buuut... That's a skip.. Unique in its own ways. Best to utilize both/all the ways of advancing and defending in combination with your stirkes/blocks. In TKD the skip is normal, so that would be the telegraph. I beat that notion by using his technique all the time. It just depends on the situation. Peace. Namaste.

Thanks ! So I understand that for quick front move you only advice yori ashi and not ayumi ashi nor tsugi ashi ? For the side movement I have troubles to get the right feeling as I feel unstable and if my opponent strike at this moment it's more or less game over and I don't look very fast, isn't simpler to just move your gravity centre (/hara) in the direction you want ? :)

Can you record a video, teaching us kick using front and the back leg, kicking fast? This stance is good for kumite point, but teach us how to use combos using this stance as well? and using it in a street fighter or in mma. I love this stance, but I dont know how to use this in an effective way out of kumite point

You know point karate lead to having the side towards the opponent. Otherwise kata has a person squaring off, sidestepping or other. Blocks protecting centerline. Then, others find faults with kata how it is presented and taught to them, then they practice, which then they modify with improvements, which are said to have their benefits. But old masters said were good as were. Where I can not help but true karate or tode is sufficient how done, then knowledge probably withheld is what makes original karate kata effective as was known for. But just like political decisions can be told as a reason that has large consensus that gets accepted as a reason, when in reality there's other motive. Like it requiring a lifetime to master a kata, bullcrap, kata nor karate is any use preventing death, nor what happens to which way the soul goes, so it's useless. The guy who learned Naihanchin by peeking didn't take long to become proficient. It did not take Jigoro Kano long to learn JiuJitsu and transform to judo as I understand it. Truth be known, it didn't take the Gracie's long to learn Japanese Jiu Jitsu. But made into an art, sport, Phys. Ed., It gets drawn out. Where everything has to be perfect or close to before progressing. As Harold Mitchum stated others claiming these different belts and such couldn't work on them all the time, as they had jobs to do. Then like the thing about karate being taught at night, if the truth were known, many were farmers and as so many say the humidity and heat was so terrible, Well it's that way in any coastal regions but the worst I ever lived was below New Orleans where below sea level, uhhh. Karate may been learned at night, but farming during the day in heat, it'd be reasonable to do at night to escape some of the heat. But there's picture of karate being practiced during the day after WWII. Which consider Ed Parker, if he learned other truths, thered be good reason he would present a cover form. Think about this. It takes so much of a second for your mind to realize something. As a car breaking in front of you. Then it requires so much of a second for this to go the computer, then for your computer to process and send a signal for your limb to break. Actual movement of that limb requires x amount of a second. Action is always faster than reaction. Some can block fast. Some can react fast. But a guy who is fast throws a strike, it'd be hard for another to block. Give it some thought. Again some can block quickly, Then while thinking, Steven Seagal made Aikido effective in movies. Where against untrained or less trained he has an advantage as well as actually being well skilled. But Aikido before WWII was said to be more like from its parent sryle, Daitoryu Jiu Jitsu, with the addition of Aiki as well as some other concepts. Which it's well recorded that Daitoryu was not taught to everyone the same. Where the secrets are still withheld. Even these secrets may be modified so as to keep the "art" alive. Which anyone who constantly rehearses moves, increases force, will have an advantage on the untrained. Theres always more than one way to do something. Yet, a lot of times, there is a single way to do it the best. I've seen plenty who did something all their life and it always worked, but if they knew the correct way, it would have been better revealed by longevity and otherwise. Say painting. It might reveal itself by that one best way where the paint lasts the longest. Simple minds beg for simplicity. Yet, consider, how long did it take Maeda to teach the Gracie patriarchs the full of Jiu Jitsu? President Roosevelt was taught some Jiu Jitsu, but he's not a Gracie. Challenge matches were taught in Britain too,. But why are they learning GracieJiu Jitsu? Russians learned from another Russian that went to Japan I think Oh, here's a biggie, but best I recall, when Jiu Jitsu masters were together to compare different styles of Jiu Jitsu against Judo, best I recall, Aikido was there and the guy who won for judo having had Aikido training or exposure. But I never seen Daitoryu represented nor Takeda present and no defeat of Takeda nor Daitoryu. Nobody ever mentioning Daitoryu eitheir, where they may not want to let the tiger out the cage. Jigoro Kano taught judo from Jiu Jitsu to masses who probably would not been exposed has Jiu Jitsu having lost its life as the day of the sword was over. Then Jigoro Kano obviously.having regard for Kitchen Funakoshi who reciprocated with Kano. Kano implementing some karate in his judo and Funakoshi implementing judo in his Karate. As Funakoshi stated a trained karate guy could kill with one blow, which figure, fists hardened from constant conditioning, as well as fingers more pointed and hardened from conditioning by striking into grain, people's,between strung together bamboo, moreso sand, where there's no fat, just well conditioned bone and cartilage that was also very strong. I doubt they had issues with arthritis eitheir as they probably refined the process over time if not centuries. The human body can do a lot beyond many belief. Which look at many karate, they've matched the Gracie's, Gracie's win. Now many Okinawan masters were said to have died in WWII, I do not doubt many Jitsu guys who may have known more than others as well as more proficient in WWII. Where it's said after WWII, things became more watered down. Good reason too. Not to mention there probably being those assigned to unofficially or known of. Which again Jigoro Kano seemed to see Gichin Funakoshi as an equal. Where he understood lethal blows, evasive footwork, etc. Then Shotokan evolved to having broad stances as well as leaving striking arms extended, as it's art. Original karate being more upright and using fewer kicks than karate today. Of course there are guys who are experts who are very fast powerful, even having the aggressive nature that give results and athletic as well, as General Patton was said to be. Understand, there are guys who are very fast, extremely aggressive, vicious and ferocious, who can throw a Haymaker, overhandright & lefts with complete accuracy, where when they hit, whoever they hit are going down. Naturally athletic. Generally good guys, not to mention besides being hard to hurt, in a fight they do not feel anything, maybe the next day, but not while fighting. Very tough and they get back up. In general, there are not that many, but they are out there where generally they will not be found in a dojo. As far as rough and tough, I think of Tex Cobb's. I do not know about his skill outside of boxing, but there's rough tough types, where there is no one strike it's powerful blows one after the other.
