Ah yes, two masters of obsolete martial arts trying to prove which is the most obsolete. MMA is the way. Muay thai / Karate / Boxing for the standup Wrestling and BJJ for the ground but try not think of any strike as "karate" or "Muay Thai" or any Submission / take down as "Wrestling" "BJJ" or "Judo". It has evolved, mma is a complete sport now and these individual "arts" are just that now... art.

It depends on how many years and often a martial art practitioner is trained than the specific style. However, I think Wing Chun forms are faster and more lethal than Karate because historically Wing Chun was developed as a form of fighting for military to military combat to overthrow a kingdom. There is no option of retreat because time is limited to carry out a mission, so when soldiers to soldiers merciless engagements , the objective is to take a life of another soldier within 6-9 seconds with dual daggers or instruments. Hand to hand combat should not take more than 30 seconds to disable an opponent . The artistic version of Wing Chun of modern day is no longer as lethal as it once was taught. I think it is possible that the military is still trained in a very lethal form without any restriction.

My son wanted to learn Kungfu. Even Akido. I said he can after he learned Boxing, Thai boxing. MMA. He never tried Kungfu after learning these forms of fighting. He now understands why. If you want to learn to really fight, stay away from these fancy stuff and even akido. Learn boxing, MMA, and if karate you got to learn it's purest form which is not taught anymore publicly. It's watered down into a sport. Just learn MMA. You'll be able to learn to fight, protect yourself in a very short time.

That's where you're wrong. Kung Fu makes you a better person. The discipline it teaches. That's what you're missing. Boxing is an easy sport. MMA is harder but you'll end up being cocky. I'm not telling you what you do, I'm just letting you know. Those fancy moves you spoke about. It's in MMA also. Only differences are the stance. Martial Arts back then is based on stance. Now days they call it MMA 'cause they'll learn Kung Fu, Boxing, Wrestling and BJJ. Then go in looking the same stance. Most top Fighters all have one thing in common. Learning one Discipline Martial Art. So there is nothing wrong learning one of those.

That's not necessarily true because kung fu just means accomplishing something through hard work not a fighting style that came later. They are all doing kung fu

Really you would not use it in it's form as this fighter did. That's not how you use these styles. The kungfu fighter learned commericial kunfu which is for show not for real fighting. He got scammed big time.
