As a LMT I can tell you that the Psoas is one of the most important muscles in the body! It’s the only muscle that attaches your lower body to the spine. This is so cool, and can’t wait to learn how to do this!

Dear Yusuke. I reached 1. Dan last Saturday. I never joined your online class, but watched many of your Videos and followed along in a daily basis. So you are definitely part on my progress, and I wanna thank you so much with this. Please never stop teaching. Greetings from Switzerland. Osu.

My Jiu Jitsu professor taught us that lifting drill. He likened it to rooting yourself to the ground like a tree. This sensei’s explanation makes a ton of sense as to why it works. Great video!

Narukoto ! Thanks for sharing. You can tell it is hard to practice and to get to that level of posture. His last punch with speed was scary even through the video. Anyhow this is all that I love in martial arts : get there without brute force but with a delicate blend of many gestures and control. Truly amazing and magical what the Body can do !

Hi Yusuke, I like it very much that it is in Japanese with English subtitles. Makes it easier to listen. The concept itself is interesting. We have to practice this a lot in the future ;-)

You should see Russian Systema punches. Ryo Onishi from Systema Osaka is a great master. Tokyo Systema is also very good.

hmm, what do you think about isujikuhou (chair axis method)? it's not karate, but it has appeared in some videos together with this sensei, like some experiments or interviews. it may be interesting to see whether it can help your karate too.

My humble observation but this muscle and the body mechanics mentioned seem to be activated in sanchin dachi. I wonder if that is a purpose of sanchin dachi. This can also be useful for adding pressure in iaido. Arigato Gozamaisu Sensei 💪💪

There was a Teacher I had the pleasure of training with… The late Hiroo Ito, who was able to produce really strong strikes in a manner similar to this, yet stronger, and it also had to do with alignment, but it was less esoteric and more in a way people could understand. His student, my Senpai, Kris Wilder, produced a book on Sanchin Kata that outlines how this can be done.

I wonder why when stretching there's 0 apparent movement, like when he put the finger over the head, at 19:50 . I can raise about 1-2cm stretching my body, so was expecting some visible body upward movement.
