It’s normal to not hit in korea , with much respect but all the good groups always have a few fans in korea bc korean fans only like childish songs like sha sha etc and I can’t understand why!! groups like kard monsta x got7 bts ..etc most of there fans are international and they respect there music there efforts and everything they do , but in korea they just ignore them or just don’t care about them ,, they juat like songs with childish con and few girls acting cute , this’s really make me angry !! Sometimes I think people forget that KARD are rookies. DSP isn’t a big company so they’re limited in the type of exposure they can give their artists. Despite the fact that KARD are merely just rookies, they’re doing well. Their songs are also very westernised so of course they wouldn’t chart too well on the Korean charts but like Danny said, as long as you’re making money, it’s not a big deal. Still it would be nice to get noticed down the line because they’re still Korean and it’s important for them to cement themselves in their own home market. However, it’s not a big deal if they don’t right now. Look at BTS, they did just fine with the international fans supporting them prior to getting recognition in Korea. I think small companies have figured out that if you make an impact internationally, some people in Korea will eventually notice plus there’s also way more money to be made in foreign markets maybe that’s why DSP isn’t really giving KARD songs that suit the Korean public and releasing ones that suit foreign tastes.

Exactly. I can't remember if this is true or not but I think I saw somewhere that the international market is larger than the koean market for Kpop. I know KARD is popular in Brazil amd they've already toured twice internationally. Considering they are a rookie group, its impressive that people even know who they are. They might not do well in Korea but they are setting themselves up well for other markets. Also, with the recent scandals for Korean music services, they'll probably make more money from Spotify

It's interesting to see that DSP is now viewed as a small company. DSP was one of the so-called Big 3 back then in the 1st generation with Sechskies + Fin.K.L (in which Lee Hyori debuted), and then they continued to go strong in the early 2nd generation with SS501 + KARA. Until late 2nd generation, their only hope is KARA, but then Jiyoung and Nicole left the group. With a hasty decision, they decided to make Baby KARA and add Youngji to the group, which didn't last too long, since the original 3 members (by assuming that Hara and Jiyoung are part of the original, even though they're not in the debut lineup) actually didn't want to continue since 2 of the original members left. After that, DSP went downhill and started catching attention with KARD since the group fills in the entertainment industry gap for co-ed group concept, which was not that successful back then when Kpop was not as popular as it is now.

you do realize they're still rookies right and most rookies don't do that well in Korea or much less internationally, the album was number one on iTunes K-POP ALBUMS , and I'm sure it'll do well on the billboard World chart. they've also got almost a million views in 5 hours (combined on both channels).also they have been really profitable most rookie groups don't see any money for the first year or two. They're from a smaller company it'll take time but I'm sure they'll do well in Korea as well, also since when do Koreans not like Americanized music??

I feel like KARD are the type of korean band you’d show to your friends if they’re not into Kpop and the whole shebang. Plus I think they cater more to the 25+ audience, moi included, they’re in a league of their own and you don’t feel silly or too old to be their fan 😚 I really appreciate them for that ❤️

I wish you would not be offended by my opinion but most koreans' taste of music is so weird. Top songs at charts are mostly ballads which do not have a uniqueness, songs are similar to each other. Some top songs are like songs for kindergarden pupils. Most very good quality or unique songs stay very low. IMHO

Apego is a word in Portuguese that means attachment in a not so good way. When we say someone is apegado to something, we say in a sense that it's better if let it go. So I think the concept is based on that, being too attach to someone that becomes unhealthy to that person and to you.
