The Karen, always causing mischief. In the video we're covering today, this Karen tries to punch her hairstylist because she wanted her assistant to help. Definitely a valid excuse, right?

The fact that the Karen went straight to elbowing/hitting her when she didn't like what she was saying is VERY telling. She's lucky the cops weren't called and that the hairstylist just let her go. "Robin, that was a lot Robin."

@Jeremy Harrill that’s exactly what I was thinking when she said that - if nobody else wanted to do her hair, there has to be a reason. Nobody else. Not just 1 or 2. That says so much. I would NEVER elbow my hairdresser - especially when I’m in the chair! I got in trouble over politics - I made the mistake of badmouthing trump knowing that she voted for him. I asked for a blunt cut - when I got home and checked it more closely (I had a mask on in the shop), my blunt cut was choppy and uneven. Not enough that it needed fixing, but subtle enough that I got the message. Don’t piss off your hairdresser! 💇🏻‍♀️

It's TOTALLY possible because people are stupid lol. But it's a stretch to believe this woman knew in advance that her hair would be used for training, agreed upon it, then later acted like she didn't know lol. Bottom of the line though this is customer service and if the customer paid to have her hair done by the stylist and not her assistant that's her right. It's bad for business to argue with your customers especially over something so stupid lol. Now the customer was 100% in the wrong for getting violent, but that hair stylist was in the wrong as well and I can't see her business lasting when she doesn't know how to deal with people in a professional way haha.

@@baconscoobysnacks3135 It's not her right to have someone provide service to her. It's a mutual transaction, either party has the right to back out at any time. Especially if the person you're refusing service to is a violent, entitled child of a woman. I would not want her as a customer. And it really isn't a stretch that this old lady knew the situation beforehand. You clearly have never worked in the service industry before. People lose their goddamn minds and get litigious just because they felt like they were wronged in some insignificant way. And the employees ALWAYS get shafted in those situations because "the customer is always right." Seeing it go the other way is a good change of pace. I'm glad this hair dresser has self respect and doesn't tolerate violence in her place of work.

Dear AugustTheDuck, A hair job for a woman is not the same as that of a man. It looks like she was getting a dye and perm, and typically, they have 1-2 assistants with them. Especially when the stylist is a popular one, they can have even more. There is no basis for the Karen to feel like she paid the money for the time of the stylist alone.

BS when you make an appointment in a professional salon, you make it with a specific stylist. If they aren't able to handle it, you reschedule or agree to another stylist (which rarely happens). To an older woman this is the equivalent of being scheduled for a surgery then being told "well the surgeon is gonna open you up then our trainee is gonna finish the rest"

I had been waiting for this one to be seen by August, saw it a year or so ago. So worth it to watch it again just to have his commentary on it. This woman really didn't have to act that way, there is no excuse for the behavior. If she wasn't in the mood for this and didn't want to have another stylist, new and supervised or not, do her hair, she could have rescheduled. She is lucky the stylist, the actual shop owner, even gave her an option for a reschedule after being lashed out at. It's not racist to request a certain stylist but it speaks volumes if nobody else even wanted to TRY doing your hair. The way she acted, I can't imagine why they would want to as they probably had a similar experience as she seems very particular about how she wants things. Given the owner and her way of de-escalation as well as offering to try again, I feel the stylists here seem friendly but don't tolerate rudeness or actions like this. To get some services done by others, you can't always have your way every time, and that's just how it is with life in general. I honestly feel bad for the new hire to have to witness and be a part of such a situation.

I think a lot of the drama here was started by the stylist. If the woman paid to have her hair done by a certain person I would probably be pretty mad if she fobbed me off on an "intern", especially at certain salons (vici capilli in Milwaukee in particular) charge you based on the experience of the stylist you hire! I've went in and booked a certain stylist that had 30 years experience and had to pay more than a normal stylist and would walk out if they scammed me and fobbed me off on an intern. So, something to think about.

I remember seeing this 2 years ago. I was in cosmo school at the time and had no problem letting people practice on my hair, if it gets messed up a teacher will fix it. If my stylist, who is a friend I trust, asked me if an assistant could cut my hair I would just ask that she supervise it. I have curly hair, not every school teaches it and you may never get a curly client in school. But they should have left school knowing how to do a 90 degree cut (round cut) so now all they have to learn is how curly hair works. If I was getting colour done theres nothing special, except for an allergy to some brands of bleach which me and my stylist discovered together. The assistant would hopefully not forget the learning experience of 'we scheduled in a patch test because if I react to the bleach itll take a couple layers of skin with it'

This is a favorite of mine. I love that woman (Sharon, the hairdresser) standing up for her assistant. Every salon I've gone to usually has students doing the hair under supervision for training. Robin didn't want her to, but it is required in some businesses, and nobody else wanted to do Robin's hair. (Gee, I wonder why) I got into a debate about whether this woman's behavior was appropriate or not, which is ridiculous. I said, MAYBE if she has dementia or something, and we could cut her some slack for that, but she comes off as just another entitled old b**ch, so no, I don't think her behavior was appropriate. Some argued that Sharon set this all up to make her mad on camera. Can you believe these people?

If she came to get her hair done by a certain person and that person didn’t tell her ahead of time before she started that her assistant was going to be finishing it, she has every right to be mad about it. That doesn’t justify assaulting her, but if the lady doesn’t want the assistant to do the job, say fine and ask the next customer if it’s okay. It’s a bait and switch. If the stylist did tell her ahead of time then yes Robin is a bitch. But it sure didn’t look like Robin had agreed to it. I don’t know. I wasn’t there.
