I actually had a similar experience. Instead of cats and dogs, I own two pet tegus. My wife and I went a public park by a lake and took one of our tegus with us. He is actually trained and very smart, but we still keep him on a leash with a harness. A Karen came up to us and starting saying we couldn't bring him to public places and that he's scaring her family and other pets. He's a 4 foot red lizard just laying in my lap....how is he harming anyone. He did hiss at her, which I found hilarious, as he's protective of my wife and I. Ive even had a Karen employee at Petsmart do the same.....like it's Petsmart, people bring all kinds of animals in there. The sad thing is, I bet our tegus (and I bet this person's pig) are more obedient than most of these "Karens" dogs.

The most effective way to deal with a person like this that I have found is to outdo them. I had a woman following me and harassing me while I was walking my dog in a very similar fashion to how this woman is harassing the pig owner. After asking her six or seven times to please leave me alone, I did something very strange. I turned with a blank stare and roared at her. I didn’t say anything; I made a loud roaring sound at her, and it freaked her out so bad she ran away from me! It was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.

My daughter owned 4 different pet pigs growing up. The first one was an impulse buy at a fair she was dancing at when she was 10. Daphne was an awesome girl. Our entire neighborhood knew who owned the pig because a few times she escaped the back yard during outdoor time because of a faulty gate. We even had one neighbor who would keep Twinkies on hand to use to lure her back in the yard if she escaped. He wouldn’t even come to our door. He would just get her to follow him back into the yard, give her a Twinkie, secure the gate, and go back to his place. Neighborhood kids would get each other to hoist them up to look over our fence and see her. After my daughter moved out about 6-7 years ago? I actually missed having a pig around so much (she still had her 4th pig Hercules that moved with her) that I ended up getting my own pet pig. (I originally with Daphne was mad at myself for awhile to caving into the excitement of bringing home her baby pig, but soon loved her and was impressed with how intelligent and how much personality that she possessed.) We no longer have pigs, and I really really miss them I probably could write a small novel just telling stories about our experiences with pigs.

This pig owner will probably have to surrender the pig as very few cities allow for pet pigs unfortunately. Having the pig registered as an emotional support animal does absolutely nothing if it's against code. Lady should have looked up ordinances prior to getting this pig. Pigs are extremely emotional, and if he has to be rehomed it will break his heart.

I agree with you about HOA’s. I had a house in a typical suburban neighborhood that for some reason was an HOA because somehow we were all part owners in a tiny strip of land, maybe 20’x100’ that ran along a nearby busy boulevard. Nothing on it except dirt, leaves, and a few trees. No HOA rules of any kind, but we had to each pay over $500 a year to have a management company take care of upkeep and insurance for the land.

There's a monastery near where I live, they raise pig for themselves. The grounds are open to the public with a cafe that sells pig food pellets. So you can enjoy afternoon wandering the grounds, saying hi to the monks, have a nice cuppa & cheeky slice of cake & finish up feeding pigs & piglets. Tldr: pigs are awesome.

I was thinking about getting a pig but I'm also considering a chinchilla." Just tuning the Karen out so she can watch normal people interact until she gets bored and walks away.
@Alt3Tab3 жыл бұрын
People like this who are so inside their bubble think they can control their own surroundings and when they see something that comes outside their definition of "normal" they snap. And they snap on others... It's just sad and the kind of behavior should be looked up to by a health professional. The lady has some issues she needs to deal with.
@avabethmcghee30483 жыл бұрын
Also, many who snap are heavily armed. The more paranoid someone is, the more firearms they seem to have, at least around here. It's kinda scary.

I had a pet pig named Lt. Bacon. My pig was also better behaved than a lot of dogs, and walked very well on a leash. I can't say that I ever had anyone get angry over my leashed pig on a walk, quite the opposite, people (mostly kids) wanted to pet the pig lol
