Story 3: why didn’t OP offer to pay his Mother-in-law. If none of the parents were around he would have to pay a babysitter. Why shouldn’t his Mother-in-law or parents be paid? The Mother-in-law will be missing work to watch your child. I always paid my mm to watch my kids, even when she lived with us. It is a lot of work to watch a toddler for 5 days. I don’t charge my daughter to watch her new baby when she goes to work, but if she is going out or going on vacation, yes I will charge her to help pay for the needs of the children while she is gone. Plus, she never pays for anything for her son that we have legal custody of, so damn straight I will charge her to go out to have fun. She doesn’t even pay for her oldest daughters care that lives with her in-laws ever since she had the first two removed from her care 8 years ago.

When I heard she was squeezing limes into her sunscreen in Story 4, I was thinking that's not good for two reasons. One, it's an acid. Rubbing it all over your body might cause irritation. Two, rubbing fruit juice on yourself is going to attract a lot of bugs. The second degree burns were outside my expectations.
@Devillin Жыл бұрын
As soon as I heard limes, I started thinking about a South American recipe I saw on a cooking show that was basically putting slices of fish in a marinade of lemons, limes, and herbs, and letting it sit for a couple of hours. The citrus acids cook the meat without fire. So OP marinaded and cooked herself.

The first story... Those cars came out shortly before my husband died. I kept telling him I'd seen these cars that look like storm trooper helmets. He snickered at me until we saw one together. I asked him I wonder if the people that bought those are Star Wars fans? That would make it even funnier. And you know how you can get custom horn sounds... Wouldn't it be funny to have the Star Wars theme song on a horn? The Dukes of Hazard had “Wish I was in the land of cotton” on the General. But now that I know there's at least one Star Wars fan that owns one of those cars... I wonder if he got the custom horn sounds added to his regular horn? May the Force be with you. 👵☮️🖖

And didn't teach me how to take care of the car, and a lot of other things. It's wonderful being treated like a princess, until your prince charming dies first leaving you clueless. If you are married make sure you two teach each other what you do so that if anything happens the other knows how to take care of everything alone. The only thing my husband needed to learn was how to do laundry. But he had enough friends one of their wives could teach him. He could cook and sew before I met him. His mother was teaching him, incase he ended up a bachelor for life. She just didn't cover laundry before I came along. I could just do inside chores, grew up mostly in apartments. He took care of everything outside, and the car. After he died I couldn't remember how to pump gas, it had been almost 30 years since I pumped gas. Treat your spouse like royalty, but make sure they can take care of everything if you go first. Thank you for your concern, it's greatly appreciated. 👵☮️🖖

Then they literally call galactic representatives senators who vote and negotiate for the betterment of their people. Doesn't get more literal for politics than that. Personally, I only WISH that I had grandkids. I would definitely watch them for free. I totally condemn the _way_ in which the grandmother went about "asking" for money to watch her grandchild. It was sneaky and wrong. Having stated that, I don’t think that it was unreasonable for this grandmother to expect some kind of compensation for watching her daughter's kid and house for five days. It would have been better for her daughter and OP to ask if the grandmother would accept some type of non-cash compensation, since they hadn’t agreed on a payment before her call. That compensation could have taken the form of free shopping for her, doing chores or providing her with a day trip of some kind. I see BOTH the grandmother AND OP as being at fault here!

@DoctorOaks Жыл бұрын
@@dumpsterbabies8453It makes me wonder why. OP said that she hadn't seen the baby in over 6 months, which implies to me that she doesn't live close by. Depending on how far away she (and how she has to travel to visit) it could easily cost almost $500 round trip if she's footing the bill for it. We also don't know if that "$100 a day" is a rate or if she's wanting it up front to take the kids out to do things. As for bringing it up so late, if her income is sporadic (which it is if she just cleans the BIL's house from time to time for cash) there's a chance she didn't need/want the money to start with. So brought it up later when it became a concern. I'm not saying that she ISN'T being manipulative, just that there's other reasons this could be happening besides her trying to "squeeze every penny" out of them.

About the Karen in the 2nd story, from what I have learned about people the more someone is in other people's business and trying to tell others what they can and can't do, the more likely that person is doing something wrong and is trying to distract people from finding out what they are doing wrong. So most likely that Karen is actually doing a few or a lot of things against the religion and doesn't want others to find out so she is throwing around accusations that others are going against that religion to make her look better and make people less likely to find out what she is doing.

And she knows that she's not a very good person but she is too lazy to put in the effort required and to becoming a better person so instead she goes to church and listens to the preacher talk about how God loves all his children and will forgive you of your sins so as to feel better about the fact that she is not a good person and feel justified in how she is.

Then why do you think a family member would? 4th story: Citrus fruit, like limes, are very acidic, it broke down the sunscreen. Basically, you might as well have put butter on instead for all the effectiveness it was. 5th story: Drinking always winds up the wrong idea at any age.

I wiuld never expect anyone to watch my child for free for a week. You are using up their time. It doesnt matter if they need the money or not. It doesnt matter if they are family or not. You would never go to work and not get paid. Watching a toddler full time is work and should be compensated as such.

It’s hilarious that people think a movie with the word, Wars isn’t political… it’s literally an anti imperialist movie… media literacy is dead in America

@@magic8ball1982 no, that Karen wouldn’t be like that if Christianity cut some slack so people like these can’t twist it to their own use

For me, I think the narrator in the original poster is taking the first story way too seriously I just find it actually kind of funny and kind of a funny misunderstanding. Do you mean this would be more of a perfect story like one of those I messed up by blank because if you don’t watch Star Wars and you don’t know the vehicles and stuff in that movie, then yeah it’s a pretty funny, misunderstanding, misunderstanding. And with the Karen in the second story, if she’s trying to send Bible verses, that say oh, you shouldn’t judge someone by their outside of parents don’t sound like they’re very easy to turn around on her that show how she is trying to judge
