I've seen one like the second story before. And in the update the OP found out her husband was actually disappointed she wasn't cheating. Because he was desperately looking for a way out of the marriage without looking like he was at fault. And yes, he was the one actually cheating.

Relating to Story 4, I learned that I had a half-sister last year and nobody told me. Dad had a fling, no protection, boom, child. I even joked about having a sister and they were also straight faced. But with the revelation, I took it in absolute stride. I just said “wait, I have a half? Huh.” and went along with my day. My brother was frustrated for a bit, but he learned to accept it.

Even though the woman in story two is saying her husband isn't cheating, he's definitely cheating. That kind of behavior doesn't just come out of nowhere and usually that kind of behavior comes from somebody who is cheating.

The girl in the 4th story is an entitled AH. She even said the dad was not allowed to be in the brother's life. Which was probably difficult on him and his wife. On top of which, it had nothing to do with her. Her having a brother has no impact on her life whatsoever.

Going by the story, it sounds like the OP in story 4 has some mental issues that may be magnifying their response, as OP mentions dissociating upon learning the news. Keep in mind this is also a very fresh revelation, and a major one. I think OP needs time to absorb this information, and also to talk with her therapist so that OP can work through the feelings they have. Having never gone through something like this, I can only imagine what OP is going through.

Story 2: This is textbook narcissistic behaviour, there is no way it should ever be normal that the OP should have to avoid talking to male friends, have to give full access to your phone, have cameras all over the house and the ability to track you 24/7 that's INSANE and not normal for any relationship. OP needs to get out of that marriage before anything bad happens, those 'conditions' are all huge red flags. I actually have serious concerns for her safety. This is literally domestic abuse.

Story 1: It sucks on how 1 person can single-handedly ruin the morale of a work force like that, but also good on how it goes back up when said person is gone. It makes it even worse when this one person is actively trying to sabotage both your job and your money. Good riddance to bad trash Story 2: This guy is so insecure, its just nuts. Who is to say that HE isn't the one who is cheating?? Guy needs to chill, or risk losing the OP. Story 3: I dont know if this guy is cheating or not, but his eye definitely seems to be wandering. Keep a close eye on him. Story 4: This is a weird, complex and sad situation here. I can understand why the OP is upset here and why the parents kept the half-sibling a secret. I'm not saying its right, but i can see it. I think some serious conversations with the parents and maybe even the half-brother are needed here.

My husband has kids from previous relationships. He told me about 1 when we first got together and her and I are really close. I knew he had a son because his baby would always be with me and he is basically my son, I've raised him since he was a baby and he taught me to love unconditionally. Before we got serious I asked them if there were any other kids I should be aware of and he straight up said, "no." About 6 months after moving in he tells me about a girl that could possibley be his daughter and said she was going to be staying with us for spring break. She arrived at our door, there was no denying that she was his. She looked just like him and had the exact same mannerisms. This had my heart torn in so many directions. I swept my emotions under the rug and opened my heart up to this kid but all she ever came around for was money even as she got older. Years down the road we had 2 kids, and his oldest (whom I'm close) moved in. So basically a house with 3 kids and a teen. A few years after she moved out he brought up a possible "new kid", who was not at all a kid, that could also be his. I felt so betrayed and his excuse was, "these kids were from before you." All I could say was, "I asked before we got serious what I was getting into (because I heard rumors but didn't believe them)." He brushed it off... started bringing this young man around and all he wanted to do was hang out with my husband and drink!!! He didn't want to work because of "LD" and his mom was also sick so he wanted a relationship with his dad. Turns out this one only came around to get drunk and get money. He resembled my husband's brother and looks exactly like my BIL's kids who also have LD. (They are half brothers) turns out during the time that my husband was seeing this woman, she was also hanging out with his brother! Anywho, sometimes you put things aside knowing things have in fact happened before you came into the picture... but everyone deals with these situations differently. Lord I wish I paid more attention... my son (stepson) has made me so proud by graduating high school. My 2 older daughters are in high school and middle school. We have a 2 year old daughter and I'm currently expecting... due any day now 😅

Right before my FiL passed he told my husband and his brother about an older half sister. She's known about them their whole lives and even sent xmas cards every year. Her mother was the one that set my MiL and FiL up. It wasn't an affair as far as I've been told. The in-laws just said she was a family friend when asked. When everything came out I realized that I know my husband's BiL and nephews because I worked with them when I was 15 at a historical park where we had to dress like we like we lived in 1845. He was my ride to and from work and he was my "pap" and his sons were my "brothers" and I was 15 portraying a 5 year old.

Story 4: I learned a few years ago that my brothers and I had an older half-sister. My dad didn't know about it because the mother never told him. It was a big surprise for everyone. Especially my mother who, until that point, thought she was the only woman on earth who had bear my father's children. She came around a few week after the news but she still holds a grudge at my sister's mother about never telling anyone of them about it. I was mostly sad about it because I wish we had found out much sooner. Because now there was so many family stories that happened and my brothers and I are all adults already so there isn't much to be done except making up for lost time. Fortunately, we were all very welcoming to her (and her kids) and now she comes over for family gathering and other events here and there. Personally, even if my dad had known about it like OP's dad did. I wouldn't have been upset about it because I understand his situation and his reasons for keeping it a secret. They agreed on him not being a part of his son's life until requested otherwise by the son himself. I understand OP's reaction but I hope in time they'll understand why their parents couldn't tell them about it

Okay, this is for the last story. I speak from personal experience, I know what that person is going through. I found out later in my life that my father had a set of twins from a woman when he was in high school. I haven't met them and I haven't reached out, I would like to but it's not possible. At least not this moment in time. So take a step back, breathe, and think of it as a teenager would. He was probably scared and didn't have any idea what to do. By the time he did he didn't want to harm the boy, your brother. He didn't know if your brother hated him, or even knew he existed. For all you know, all he knew, the boy's mother had a boyfriend or a husband or a lover that the boy that was his father. So there is a chance that the boy only recently found out. It will be stressful when you, if you decide to have a relationship with him. So here's my advice, take a step back. Try to see it from outside perspective. Like it's a TV show or something, I'm not sure how it's to explain that outside perspective thing. Think of it from all angles is what I'm saying. Cuz you have your brother's side, his mother's, your father's, your mother's, your sisters, and yours. And that's not counting if he has any siblings from his mother. That's also not counting his wife or his children. That said take it one step at a time. If you get overwhelmed and take a step back. Take a deep breath , in through your nose, and out through your mouth. do this as many times you need to to calm down. Good luck and I wish you well.

You know it's weird I found out I had a half sister when I was 16 and handled it without those histrionics. My dad had her when he and her mother were 18 and married right before he left for basic training. He was in the marines during vietnam but never went over seas, got lucky and stayed stateside the whole time. and right after he left vietnam his wife divorced him and took off with the baby leaving him with no idea where either went. He didn't like to talk about it so it was never brought up until she managed to find him again. We were all excited to meet eachother and it was pretty cool to get new family. That OP is seriously in need of that therapy they got some deep seated trust issues. Parents are allowed secrets from their kids just like kids are allowed secrets from their parents. Nothing wrong with that.

So, the last story: I am a father of 3. My first kid I had at 17. I was also into drugs and selling drugs at the time. Needless to say I was not a dad to my first born son. Now cut to my third child with my third baby momma, my youngest son will know everything I have ever done, but all within time. I don't find it appropriate for me to tell my kid at 5 years old that he has a half brother from a failed relationship due to his father's heavy drug use back then. I'd feel it better for my son if he were mature when I speak to him about it. But it will in fact be before my eldest turns 18 and ends up having the decision to come and seek a relationship with me.

I haven't started the video yet, but the title about scores reminds me of when i did a course on the princes trust, we needed to do a score of each student based on helpfulness, friendliness and that. Two girls were quite spiteful and gave me a poor score, i chewed them both out because one kf them had nearly been injured during a rainy day, she slipped on a step and i stopped her from falling and I'd been helping both ofvthem with a computer project. I refused to help either of them again and they both failed the course on the last week and had to fo it all over again. Thry even complained to the tutor and he replied "I thought you both said he was unhelpful." I replied, "They're only polite when they want things." Am i the jerk? 😂

The dad in the last story is not in the wrong. If they HAD told her it probably would have made the situation worse because then she’d have known and felt abandoned by the brother when the brother didn’t have any control over what his mom did. It happened to my grandfather. He was married to a woman before my grandmother. He was also a mechanic in the air force. When he was deployed during WWII she was pregnant. She straight up divorced him and refused to allow my grandfather to have any contact with my half uncle. At that time, there was no fighting for custody or visitation rights. I didn’t even find out about my half uncle until I was an adult.

Me being heavily obsessed with Pokemon I was just playing my game at the table before our food came and I over heard my parents talking about another son my dad had in a previous marriage who was a still born. I stopped what I was doing and interjected wait your telling me I have another brother? So they had to explain to me with everything and I guess in some ways I have 2 half brothers and 1 full brother, and both half brothers are the oldest. The oldest brother I never knew and the older brother I grew up with. After the shock i just let it to and accepted it As sad as it is I'm the only sibling who heavily considers my stillborn half brother as a brother even though we never knew who he would have grown up to become. Autopsy shows he had a heart defect but wasn't the cause of death in the womb in the final weeks, but who knows. When I have kids my plan is to namey son or daughter after my late dad and brother. I found out I had a daughter that's currently mad at me in the moment but I love her and I know she loves me. Things in life are not as black-and-white as you think. It's something that you have to live through and understand that it can't always be your perspective in life. Take it from the kickboxer.

I don't understand why op in the last story is that upset. Why mention a child they had no contact or connection with. Your mental health seems over the place how would they know you would not have reacted how you are now. Sometimes just leave things alone you were never hurt in the situation why make it such a big problem

I have 2 half brothers. I have my older half brother who was adopted by a different family and I have no idea where he is and I have my younger Half brother who was adopted with me when I was a year old and he was 6 months old.

Story 4 needs to set her ego aside. What part of this do you think revolves around you? Why do you think this kid/man and your fathers past is your issue? You honestly sound like an narcissist acting like this man not having your father around is something you're involved in. Your father chose the best option for everyone and whether you agree or not doesn't matter. If your half-brother wants to be around then fantastic! Just enjoy the fact that he wants anything to do with you.

For the final story. Grow up! That incident happened when your dad was 18 ( yes?) We're you alive, an idea, or a cell. NO. So they didn't have a kid in secret just to make you feel like an idiot, looks like you did that to your self

In the third story I think she is extremely controlling and is painting herself as a victim. In what kind of messed up relationship you audit that way who your partner has as friends in social media or at work? Either you have no trust at all in your partner, in which case why are you even with them then, or you are a jealous, insecure, control freak...
