A mistrial was declared in the murder trial of Karen Read. The jury returned to the Massachusetts courtroom still deadlocked. Earlier in the day, the judge read a note from the jury indicating they were hopelessly hung. However, the judge ordered the jury to resume their deliberations. It was seen as the final push to get them to reach a verdict before declaring the case a mistrial. Inside Edition's Alison Hall has more.

@Toccata. Right! I think the jury made the right decision. Even if she's actually guilty, I don't think there's enough proof beyond a reasonable doubt. It's a confusing case with a lot of shady characters. Either his friends did it, or she did. I don't think we'll ever know the truth.

I don't think it's surprising at all in fact two days ago I said you watched was going to be a mistrial and if you watch this case which I did if you can't say there's doubt .... Sorry you got to close mind 2 independent experts said no prosecutor is wrong the defensive doctor said no this is not an accident there would have been bruising on the body no bruising plus the dog scratch marks didn't come from an accident inside the house there was a dog nobody ever investigated inside the house at all if you think anything but not guilty then you're not paying attention to the evidence

Let's look at the fact of the two troopers the accident investigator who was a moron and the lead investigator who was clearly biased against Karen he literally wished Karen was dead.. I'm sorry lead investigator thinks the person he's investigating should be dead that is doubt it's not fair investigative work

This is nuts. I would have preferred a Verdict one way or the other. A mistrial is just going to be even more painful for the Mother of John. I don't get it. Did the Prosecution team do bad or was the Jury filled with questionable Jurors? And whether you think Karen is Guilty or Innocent. How can she get a fair trial after all the publicity this one got? How would they find a Jury that doesn't know about this case? I'm sorry this Jury did not do their jobs. She either is Innocent or Guilty. A mistrial just shows you that the Jury or Prosecution team did a terrible job.

There would be no way to have another fair trial. Everyone is that area and all around would know. All the evidence will or lack of will be out there. They know each other's cases now. If one select group of ppl can't come to a decision why keep going to do it again. Obviously there wasn't huge evidence either way. But the next trial might get someone who just doesn't wanna argue and maybe give in .which won't be fair . No way should this be tried again

Not true. The mistrial shows that the jury indeed did their job and that the prosecution did not prove their case. The burden of proof is on the prosecution. They have to prove their version of events within a shadow of a doubt. The jury apparently still had doubts. Would you rather a jury convict an innocent person or release a guilty person just to avoid a mistrial? Your comment made absolutely no sense.

Hopefully the prosecution never stops, she didn’t win and the evidence is stacked against her.

For someone who lost her husband no matter what their issues were, she doesn’t seem at all sad that he’s dead. She only cares that she’s facing charges for his murder but not at all sad that her husband is gone. Whether or not she committed murder.

Everyone deals with death differently. This doesn't prove Guilt or Innocence. Someone botched this. Whether it was the Prosecution team or maybe she really is innocent. Hard to know what went on at this trial since we weren't the Jury. We don't even know what they did or didn't see that had them split.

I think after the lengthy trial and all that has been said about her and her boyfriend and years since it happened. Ur worried about your freedom. Not the loss of the bf anymore

I don't know anything about these case, but I have a questions, was it a DNA done to see if her DNA was found on him since she is being accused of beating him to death ? Was his DNA found on the car ,that could prove she ran over him.

Yes, Lively could play Read in the movie. Not sure which actor could play the misfit Proctor though.
