Everyone’s talking about the kid being good, but nobody’s talking about how he said “It’s ok mom, don’t take this lady’s bag” before the Karen even *started* trying to steal it. The entitled mom's son from the first story showed more maturity than the supposed adult who tried to steal the OP's backpack. I honestly would never be okay with being in an open marriage, especially considering what if the woman that I would be dating becomes pregnant by another man that she was "just flirting and kissing" with on the side or vice versa, or how awkward would it be to introduce her to family members. The third story OP's girlfriend was definitely toxic.

Open relationships only work if both parties are truly okay with it. It's definitely not for everybody, and if one person decides they don't want to, even if they said yes previously, then the open relationship can't stay open, and they should either reevaluate the boundaries and revise the agreement, or break up.

If they aren't comfortable with it then you 2 just aren't combatable, I've broken up with partners because I was poly and it sucks ik, but the relationship is supposed to be equal, not just what 1 specific person wants. Always love the contrast a Karen gives between demanding something and wanting it for free. If you wanted it so bad and saw so much value in it, you'd buy one, Karen... But the thing is, you don't see value in it - you just want to impose your will on others and upset them. The OP of the first story handled things well.
@TechnoBoy-yl9hq Жыл бұрын
So about open relationships. I agree that it's cheating with extra steps, if only one partner wants it open. If both partners want it open then it's fine because it means they both know the other will always come back to them in the end. But if only one wants it open, then the other is put through a lot of mental turmoil trying to figure out if they're gonna lose the one they love so much to somebody else.

Last. I think that poly/open relationship can work ONLY if they start as such. Because only like this both people are 100% ok and there's nobody taking advantage of the situation. To me cheating is betraying someone's trust, so if someone starts a relationship as non monogamus they all know how things are going to do. But if someone suddently chooses to open the relationship, then they are practically forcing the partner to choose between opening the relationship or breaking up

In the first story, the mother is obviously at fault. Her son actually seems to know better than her, and he's only six. Six! If a six-year-old knows better than their parent, it says somethin' 'bout that parent. Second story: The husband can't do anything to make it up. As the wife said, he spends a lot of time with his friend, not her. So, he needs to fix his priorities, or else he might lose his wife. Third Story: The OP's parents are really neglectful, abusive, and obviously pick favorites. They're not good parents, and never will be good grandparents.

Story 1: Stuff like this is exactly why there are cameras pretty much everywhere nowadays. That Karen was a complete nutcase and i dont know they think they can just steal someones belongings. Even worse when they just expect someone to just hand our their things. I got a pretty good laugh when the OP pulled out on of her bras, that was quite amusing. Good on the bus driver too, for handling this well too. Hopefully the OP doesnt have to take the bus for too much longer. Story 2: Ok, im somewhat conflicted here. While the husband can be seen as a big jerk here, the wife/OP can be too, to a smaller degree. I can clearly see the OPs frustrations with the husband wanting to hang with his friend over her a lot, but when things cancel/change, be it the plans or his mind, the way the OP handled it wasnt great either. He clearly wanted to try and make things right and better, and she pretty much threw it in his face. I dont know if that was the straw that broke the camels back here, but it wasn't handled well by her either. Im sure there are some things that arent being told here. Story 3: More money, more problems it seems. The parents here do seem like spoiled rich boomers here, and i can see here why the OP would think that Boomers have screwed Millenials... and they have in a number of ways, but if i were the OP, i would be limiting contact with them, regardless of their financials. The parents clearly only cared about their cheque book and living the super high life, and certain other relatives and not the OP. I can see sour grapes here, but in the end, i wouldn't be putting up with their attitude. Story 4: Run, OP, RUN!!! If you aren't into that kind of lifestyle, an 'open relationship' is just a poor excuse to cheat. This gf clearly should not be in a relationship of any kind if that is how she views it.

Open relationships are not cheating with permission if both parties have agreed to it enthusiastically. If one is hesitant, they are likely to be uncomfortable in the relationship. I have a friend who is asexual. He once said that if his partner had sexual needs that he couldn't grant, he would be more than willing to have them be with someone temporarily to accommodate that, or be in a collective polyamorous relationship. Monogamy was created by society. While many other animals mate for life, many others do not. Having an open relationship between two consenting parties and clear boundaries is not cheating with permission. If one is for it and one is against it, that relationship won't work out. If a polyamorous person is in a monogamous person, they can also feel trapped in a relationship, even if it's a positive one. In some cases, an open relationship might be just cheating with permission, but that doesn't mean that all should be grouped into that category.

When it was my turn, this entitle mother immediately spoke that she wanted this and that while her finger was pointing the foods. Her son (probably 6 - 8 years old) spoke that it should be my turn. You know what? The mother "shoo" him and said "be quiet". I can't believe what I just saw. This woman taught her kid a bad thing! It could possibly affect him.
