How to crochet my easy new born baby converse style slippers is a set of videos for you to crochet along with and collect the free pattern from the description box, just click show more to find it, then copy and paste it. Or you can buy my set of patterns from my Etsy shop named cottagecake. I really appreciate my monetary funds because that means I can write more patterns and make more videos.
Items made from my patterns can be sold to raise funds for your favourite charity or sold to earn some pocket money.
Pattern 2 (new born)
(second sole)
Ch 12
R1. 3sc in the 2nd ch from the hook
Sc in the next 3
Hdc in the next 3
Dc in the next 3
8dc in the next (end of ch)
Dc in the next 3
Hdc in the next 3
Sc in the next 3
2sc in the next (use hidden stitch)
Sl st in the 1st sc to join
R2. Ch1, 2dc in the next (next not same)
Dc in the next 10
2dc in the next 8
Dc in the next 10
2dc in the next 2 (yes use the st at the bottom of the ch)
Sl st to join in the 1st dc
Now put your hook back through that same stitch and slip stitch it to the same part on the sole, this stitch is to the left of the centre line of your sole. You will be working through both stitches on the new sole and one stitch left over when you worked in the back loops previously on the base. Match up the stitches all the way around with slip stitching and finish with a slip stitch into the sole. Fasten off and sew in the tail.
Tada…now smile as you look at your finished slipper 
Then go and finish the other one.
To make laces for this slipper, make a chain of 130, then slip stitched all the way back. Make two.
Or you can sew on buttons 

Ty. So much Karen. Love ur style of teaching especially ur little stories. U should always tell little story while teaching. I've done so much amigurumi in the last 2 years tightly crocheting. U showed me how to loosen up a bit listening to ur little stories. I also find myself repeating rows & stitches in my mind in ur English voice. So again keep on doing what u love cause i will follow.

Thank you so much for your time & detailed explanation of these cute booties. I can't wait to make some. Yes you are correct about the cost of some of the crochet items in todays market. Everyone wants beautiful things for pennies. People today don't seem to understand the hours of training/experience we have to put in before we are able to achieve the works of art we make. I put so much love into the items I crochet. If I know who I am specifically make an item for I also say prayers for that person. If I make an item as a gift for someone & later see that they don't appreciate & take proper care of an item I have made, that person never again receives a handmade item from me. Lastly, I so enjoyed the history of your family as you connected it to yarn & crocheting. Please tell more stories as you produce more videos. P.S. I have said things & was later told it was not P.C. Take care & thanks again for sharing your patterns, videos & stories.

The father of the baby I made these for has issues with his baby looking masculine. A "boonie hat" (also known by some as a fishing hat or the hat Gilligan wore) in the same colors of the booties met the father's approval. Thanks to you, Karen, I was able to improvise a boonie hat & need no pattern. Your use of slip stitches to define lines really helped!

Enjoyed working this pair of sneakers w you over here in USA and hearing info you had for us. I loved learning some history. These are so cute. I used a 4.00 for shoes but had to use a 3.75 for soles. Don't know what I did to cause that. But worked out and looks great. You're a genius to have figured shoe construction. I admire how you hold your hook to work. I never could do it w/o getting cramped. My mom and grandmother crocheted quite fast holding hook like you. Thank you. Very good, clear instruction.
