Ponniyin Selvan: II or PS-2, is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language epic historical action adventure film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. Produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions,
it is the sequel of Ponniyin Selvan: I second of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel, Ponniyin Selvan. The film stars an ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, R. Parthiban, Rahman, Lal and Vikram Prabhu. The music was composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography by Ravi Varman, editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Thota Tharani. More so now the whole damn scenario in Delhi is more a Alfredian tale. Alfred when a wandering lad comes to London from the interior districts and pulls out the sword called Excalibur which is halfway buried in the rock in the town center. The people realise he is the long lost rightful heir to the throne of England. Our Scion is going to pull away the veil now hiding his true identity and the marvelled electorate will realise the chai wallah is an imposter and put our own young Alfred on the throne of Delhi. Can make for a grand epic movie.
