Lisa's husband, Andy here. This song is suburb and beautiful, I have never known such a sublime and beautiful expression of hatred and bitterness in song this powerful before. 👍

That dissonant harmony on the bridge sets such a mood. Love it... Completely found this artist by accident recently and been loving her work.

Hauntingly beautiful performance by Karine without any unecessary melodrama. Perfect. Love the Scottish accent retention as some artists put on an American accent when singing.

Didn't know this was written by Solas. But Karine Polwart sings it so well. What a great song. Every politician and everyone who thinks an apology can atone for a wrongdoing should listen to it!

A star is born. A real one, not the rubbish churned out by commercial talent contests with a factor of x. Listen....this is a real artist.....this is real music.

I'm so looking forward to seeing this wonderful artist perform at Ely folk fest next month. I don't know how I haven't seen or heard of her until recently, I suppose that it just goes to show how so many really extraordinary artists don't get the recognition that they deserve in most of the media.

Listened to this so many times. So relevant at the time it was written, as it is now (i.e. to Trump). So deeply affecting. So well performed. As good as it gets!

Completely agree, a beautiful, tense, bleak & poignant performance totally appropriate to the appalling subject matter. You might listen to the version by Solas, American Irish band, another respectful rendition. (Solas - another great contemporary band.)

I was thinking of doing this song with a video mash up of trumps big ugly orange mug all over it! You read my mind!!! First have to figure out how to take it from her tenor guitar to my regular guitar. This song is brilliant...stunning in every way!

I feel very sorry for you if you can't appreciate this poignant, wonderful song performed by a truly great accoustic guitarist & singer & backed by some really talented musicians. Obviously you are under educated musically & perhaps need to get out & see if you can learn to appreciate a broader range of music than you seem able to at the moment. Good luck with that.

An artist who is actually capable of philosophy? Makes me care even more, actually. In fact, I only listen to art that can at least express that which philosophy entails, if not fully embody it. Philosophy is a paradox. It is like losing a legal battle to your ex-wife, her taking away all your money, only to realize that you do not want any of it back, including the wife. Living without the two is too much reality, but living with it, is no reality at all.
@theboss1967able12 жыл бұрын
Brilliant pmsl. She must have been severely pissed off at some point in her life. I want to go to a concert and just forget the problems of the world that I live with every bloody day. It's amazing how the middle class of this country seem to have us believe they're the victims. It's like these folk singers who go on about the hardships of coalmining, the closest they've been to the blackstuff was paying the cole man on a friday night.

Sweet tune. You're a very talented and modest lady,.......the polar opposite to Trump!
