Tbh for me when it comes to entertainment, looks takes a back seat. It has to have an interesting story. Also, when we say back beauty is in the eye of the beholder they mean it. Rarely is my perspective of beauty highlighted in Hollywood. So it trained me at a young age to care less about what people look like and more focused on the story.

Kim Coles is so pretty. My first time seeing her on Television were during the late 1980s or the earlier 1990s. She was an Hostess on the Apollo. I said wow who is that. She is stunning. She had that wild thicker hairstyle. So many of us ladies, during that time had that kind of hair. I agree with your ex friend. I usually prefer watching movies or sitcom shows with all the glamour and fashionable beautiful people. Dynasty with Joan Collins and Diahann Carroll. Were one of my favorites glamour shows to watched. When I was a teenager lady, during the 1980s.

When this show was airing back in the 90's, my girlfriend at the time, who turned out to be my first child's mother and I were watching it, and I said to her that I liked one of the women. She said, who, Regine? I said no, Synclaire. I thought she was so cute. I had it bad. 😅 I usually like shorter women like my girlfriend, but Kim was one of the few exceptions of taller women I've crushed on growing up. Most of it has to do with her eyes, they are my favorite feature on a woman. 😍

I love Living Singles and Kim shines so much. So nice to see a loving biography done. Karine's analysis that looks so compassionately at the individuals and putting that clear spotlight on the Hollywood Industrial Complex is very needed. One thing we've seen in many of Karine's bios is the purposeful "flaw" Hollywood inserts onto actors so the actor can be easily manipulated. They want actors to be a bonsai tree-- a tiny imitation of the giant oak tree they should and can be. And a bonsai is twisted, pruned , controlled to be made into this "perfect" small table plant not giant. Love Kim and hope she thrives.

Yes Living Single was a phenomenal show. It showcased a lot of great personalities that you didn’t get to see very often with black people at the time. Even though I’m not black it gave me motivation to see woman of color that were strong, funny and going after their dreams. Sinclair and Overton brought a light heartedness to the show that just made it work. By the way I TOTALLY AGREE that In Living Color was 100 times better than SNL. I loved the characters, The Fly Girls, DJShawn and of course Mr Jim Carry. That’s a classic.

Love this her and thank you for celebrating this queen. I was about 13 when living color came out & my mom got my hair braided in no braids like that Not pinch/ micro) We only used good human hair from Madeline's or Lugos on Flatbush ave. This is where she purchased her signature custom wet & wavy hair from, they always had an autographed picture of her and I would look for it every time my mom took me to buy my hair. I knew good hair way before this bundle stuff. Kim Pioneered it!! Plus I was so fly with my braids!!
