I am lucky enough to be able to call Aurora Aksnes a very dear and close friend. Ironically the first time I ever seen her was at the 2015 peace prize awards. Two days after I seen her perform I was having coffee at a coffee shop when I seen her walking down the opposite side of the street. I dropped my coffee and ran across the street not wanting to miss this opportunity as her voice had left a lasting impression on me. I introduced myself and told her that I’d seen her perform two days earlier. I told her I was on holidays in Europe and had just gotten to Norway a few days earlier. She asked me if I knew my way around. I told her I had no idea and my surprise. She offered to show me around around 10 am and she showed me things that I never would’ve found on my own and very beautiful parts of nature in Norway and we didn’t get back to the coffee shop until almost 5:30 pm. I thanked her from the bottom of my heart and said that I had a wonderful day she said cool. What time would you like to meet up tomorrow? I said what for I was somewhat confused? She replied there’s still a lot more to see. What was meant to be one week in Bergen? Norway turned into two months spending a very large time hanging out with ✨Aurora✨ she’s quirky. She speaks her mind. She’s honest she’s funny as hell with a very warped sense of humour. She has a small evil streak which I love. When I left to go back to Australia, we exchange numbers and have been friends ever since I have travelled to 23 different countries to see her in concert and have seen her several times in Australia as well. The best part is that after the concerts I get to go backstage and hang with her. In April this year she sent me a copy of the new album autographed for my birthday and I have met a few others Celebrity singers through her which has been awesome She is a unique amazing individual and even if he wasn’t a famous singer songwriter I would still love to call her my friend

She wasn't aware of her movements and was shocked when it was pointed out to her and she saw herself later. Her movements are more flowing these days, but she still moves a lot. She cant help it 😊. She does make some pop songs, but makes a lot of different version, and some of my favorite performances are just with a guitar or piano and maybe someone on harmonies. Constantly evolving artist, and her latest album is always the best in my opinion.

Her real name is Aurora Aksnes and she is a singer and songwriter from Norway, and she was 19 here even though she looks younger, and she is 27 today. She had been performing for 1.5 years at this point, but she still didn't fully enjoy it, she said later in interviews. She was still very nervous, and this was her biggest performance so far with ~8000 people in the venue and being broadcast on TV as well (not sure if live or not). She was a songwriter first (and dancer), and she never really planned to be a singer. Her movements are somewhat involuntary and a way to express her feelings that she gets from the music, and during 2016 and later when she got more used to performing, she turned them into voluntary movements and dancing. She writes all her music and lyrics, and has released 3 albums and 2 EPs so far, and now she is currently working on the 4th album. I suggest her song "Through The Eyes of a Child", and she did a pure a cappella performance of the song in March 2016, the video is also called Vevo UK Lift on her main channel, where she and her band members are doing amazing harmonies. Also "It Happened Quiet" live at The Current, it is an acoustic performance from March 2019 with incredible vocals from both Aurora and her backup singer Silja Sol, I've seen several vocal coaches reacting to this one.

I confess, I'm an Aurora addict. She is best live as each performance is a reinterpretation, some times radically. She sees this world in a different way, hence the lyrics and the intensity of performance reflect that she is her song. The lyrics of this one also show her age when she wrote it, 11. Her concert at the Nidarosdomen is a masterpiece. Mainly her originals but some wonderful covers.

I can’t stand this kind of self ego narcissism. This girl has no interesting or unique perspective on life, she’s nothing more than a celebrity with a cult like following amongst certain people. Only the most basic of humans will actually believe this woman has some unique outlook on life. She’s only repeating what many before her did.
@Greenitthe
@Greenitthe 10 ай бұрын
@@capitalizingcapitalist1202 I vehemently disagree with this sentiment. Every person has a unique perspective, and simultaneously if you reduce every experience and perspective to its core then nobody has a unique perspective. But this is missing the point entirely - music doesn't merely convey a message, but as with all interpersonal connection from language to gestures to images it is a medium through which emotions are communally explored. Even you are participating in the evident disdain you feel towards this celebrity and the cult like elements of her followers. "She’s only repeating what many before her did." Aren't we all?

She wrote part of these lyrics at age 9. I believe she's 19 here... Her sister designs her clothes. She's on the spectrum, so she has always experienced and expressed herself in unique way. Compelling. Seeing her live truly takes you on a journey in her world. I love her lyrics and melodies. Exist for love makes you giddy. Lucky pulls on your emotions in a different way. The seed gives energy and power. She is truly a performer. But she herself says that she is truly herself when she creates and writes music. She describes performing as just being a wessel for the music that flows through her.

Thanks for this great reaction. Aurora is my all time favorite multi talented artist and you are spot on calling her authentic and quirky, that is part of the reason we Aurora fans love her so much. Also, movement is a big part of her life, she loves to dance and she took 10 years of dance lessons as a child, also, she just lives the song, especially in her early years of performing, it was her disconnect from being uncomfortable performing. She now embraces live performances and her movements are much more fluid and graceful. Looking forward to more Aurora on your channel.

Thank you for reaction. I love this Artist. And she is very natural artist - including that she does not have music education and she just started to learn all by herself to make music, to play piano, to sing. She even did not wanted to be an artist just used music to express her emotions and she love to create something. She is very artistic and creative person. She started to write music when was 6 and to make English lyrics from 9 years old (she is from Norway). I love many things in her music but this things including her voice and voice tone, expressiveness, emotions she shows and transmit and original sounds (as you said she is somewhere popy in some of her songs, but it is different kind of pop :) ). She is very original and artistic even outside the scene. She has a lot of great songs (not like only several great ones) - for me it is generally her whole discography:).

Thank you for this great reaction to my favourite artist, had to subscribe for this and I hope you keep reacting to this unique artist. I think you were on point with your interpretation of her. She’s said that life is better without shoes, and she likes to be barefoot on stage to feel grounded, and she likes to stand on her tipi toes. Her hand movements in the beginning was very uncontrollable, when she saw herself performing she thought it looked like she had a seizure or something. Now she’s more confident on stage, and her movements are more gracious. She wrote this song when she was 11 years old, and at that age she didn’t quite understand the meaning of the song, but as she grew older she knew that home meant home to her parents. It means a lot to her and and are one of few songs that are about herself. Aurora (Aurora Aksnes) is a Norwegian singer/songwriter/dancer and music producer born on the 15 of June 1996 So she’s 19 years old in this concert She started writing music at the age of 6 after finding an old electric piano in the attic, she added lyrics (English) when she was 9 years old. She’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano, and her family didn’t know about her talent until she was about 14 years old. She took dancing lessons from 6 - 16, but then she quit to become an artist. She actually didn’t want to be an artist, but her mom convinced her that she should share her music because it could help people. It for sure has helped me through difficult times. I love everything about this amazing “different kind of human” (she has a song called that. Could you please react to: “Through the eyes of a child” live at Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017 This is also an important song for her “It Happened Quiet” live at Current This song was inspired by domestic violence, she gets killed, and in the end she comes back to haunt him.

HI ! Aurora Aksnes is such a unique artist and human being, I can't describe it... To keep this journey with Aurora, here is what you can do: There is live performance that you absolutely need to fully react such as KEXP, Nidarosdomen, Honda Stage, The Current, Lismo (for the song Forgotten Love), Bergen in 2020, her Vevo LIVE performances, the HAIK concert and others... Also, there's on youtube her unleaked song, none of them are similary or bad, they just would be perfect released this way. There's song that alot forget to listen to but she made a cover of Pink Moon by Nick Drake, there's nothing the same she did it the way she want it to be ! She made songs or cover that arent part of albums but EPs like Under Stars, Awakening, In Boxes... She colaborated with Askjell many times but one of their most beautiful song IMO is "to be loved", the live performance at Festspillene as the studio version. Also did a featuring recently with Tom Odell: "Butterflies", a gorgeous but unfortunately too short song, you'll get obsessed with ! Don't forget her singles, part or not of albums: A potion for love, Midas touch (for the TV serie Hannah), A dangerous thing, The Secret Garden (for the new film by the same): I really recommand you her live performace from Japan this is divine. She also colaborated for the FROZEN PLANET II Documentary with Hans Zimmer, where she back vocals most of the song created for the documetary but the song "Take me back home" originally made by Hans Zimmer ft. Camila Cabello has been performed live by Aurora because this night Camila couldn't be present and to be honest, this is even better like litteraly. As you should know she's the little voice calling for Elsa in FROZEN 2, but she also made her own version of the song. Finally, maybe you could watch interviews or documentary of hers ? Thats a lot i know, but I PROMISE you wont be deceived like there is nothing for, everything is special, unique, proper of this person she is.

Great analys mister to my favourite artist of all time. But i have one big issue and that is that you never mentioned her emotions. This woman pours emotions through her skin and that is important for me. Hope you continuing to react to her. Then you definetly going to see this.

Found on Reddit: The singer Aurora is my current special interest, and for years now people have speculated that she is on the autism spectrum, or that she has adhd. With most of her comment sections on KZbin asking similar questions. But I found a video where she basically mentions that she is autistic, addressing the crowd saying "my fellow autistic people".

You can't say anything bad about this song or just Aurora in general, she is just incredibly amazing. I literally cant stop listening to her songs. Plus, who cares what she does with her feet, it's meant to be a singing review and not some beauty show review.

Definitely explore more of her performances, the more organic ones where she is performing in studios or in natural environments, they're very powerful, and you see more.of her range. She's unquestionably a free spirit and not of this world.

In a documentary, i remember her saying she was diagnosed with Aspergers at a young age but that she hated labels.. As a 30 yr old aspie myself, i know for sure she wasnt even aware of her physical gestures..we learn to look more "normal" as we age 😂 which im not sure if its a good thing or not. Gotta love Aurora tho. Great singer and songwriter. Oh and Pls pls do her "It Happened Quiet" (current session) 😊

Found your channel bc this video got recommended. I’m gonna sub and hope to see you discover more Aurora. She seems to have this way to speak to people on a very human-to-human level. I love getting more educated explanations and different ways to interpret what she does from different viewpoints. About her music tho: she’s got a new single coming out tomorrow, and when i heard the lil snippet she posted, i immediately noticed that she seems to be doing SOMETHING different with her voice compared to most of her singing before this. I don’t have the words or knowledge to explain what it is, but I’m excited to hear the full song + what her next album (and live performances!!!) are gonna be like. Would actually be very cool if someone would….. analyse her singing/music over the years…. this performance would be a pretty neat starting point i think 🤔🤫

It’s my first video on your channel, and I’m sorry but the first thing you comment on is on how she looks!! And that she is not wearing makeup. What on earth does that have to do with her voice!! Maybe it’s your style and maybe you are good at what you do but I’m not going to see the rest.
