@zr1drifter I'm a Laker fan, saw the whole season. Biggest issue was definitely Malone's knee. He was the glue that allowed them to even get to the Finals (coming back from 0-2 hole vs SA...held Duncan to 17.5 on .388 shooting for the last 4 gms of the series). Like Scott and Magic going down w/ hammies in 89, when Malone tweaked his knee in Gm 2, the Lakers were F'd. That was a shitty season. The Shaq and Kobe shit had to end at any cost.

Had the Lakers had those 5 guys all around 24-28, it would've been insane how good they could've been, had they been able to play together. As a Laker fan I miss the Mailman. 03-04 season... I mean that's what you get as a Super team, it didn't work out and it was only one season of the Superteam that season Kobe and Shaq had problems (mostly Kobe, Kobe was a young) If Karl Malone was healthy during the 03-04 season and 04 NBA finals Detroit Pistons still would of beat the Lakers.

PS: The refs were exacting a little payback for the bad ink they got due to 2002. Lakers were down 44-111 in FTAs at one point. Biggest disparity in the Finals since the 70s.
