I agree with you. Malone is overlooked because he never won a ring, but people forget how good he was. Over the course of 19 seasons, he averaged 25 ppg on 51.6% shooting! Along with 10 rpg. Amazing numbers considering his longevity.

I also grew up in that small town of Summerfield La. He and my oldest brother played basketball together and graduated together. I new him and his family as a child. His mother had a small store in Holy Ridge. We would stop there after church somedays. She new that my favorite candy was those little strawberry flavored candies with the wrapper that looked like a strawberry. Sometimes she would sneak one into my hand. She was a lovely woman. I have many other stories that has to do with Karl but this one that includes his mother is my fondest. Congrats Karl. You deserve it.

My favourite player when i was a kid in the 90s, instead of spending his millions on a Mazerati or a Ferrari he bought a massive 18 wheller truck so he could just drive it around. I didn't mind at all when he went to LA so he could get a ring, if anyone deserved one it was him (and Stock of course)

Neither Karl Malone or John Stockton could help for MJ being so incredibly good and he had perhaps the best partner ever in NBA history in Scottie Pippen. Those two won 6 rings in 8 years and were even praised as the best duo ever in basketball by Dennis in his Hall of Fame speech. I idolised Malone since I was 15yo. Being an Australian we didn't get much NBA games at home so I mailed away to join the Jazz fanclub just before the Dream Team Olympics and I got back a plethora of Jazz merch that I didn't expect. By the time the Jazz got in the finals, NBA games were shown at midnight on tv here. Although they didn't win, I remained a Utah fan for life. The magic between Malone and Stockton made a lot of fans in Australia when most were on the Bulls bandwagon. Im so glad I was lucky to be born in this era, growing up with 90s NBA. I don't think there will ever be another era like that.
