I thought Karl's interest towards weird stuff and insects was just there for the show, as in, he would exaggerate that bit. But look at that face 04:37. He barely shows such pure joy in front of the camera. Another time I noticed his fascination with weird stuff was when he met the conjoined twins in India. He was so overjoyed.

Karl is such a sweet soul. I think he tries to be honest to himself regardless of social norms, and tries to let the world know its not all sunshine and rainbows for him. He comes across grumpy, but he just needs someone like Ricky and Steve to cheer him up (they have actually done it on occasion, believe it or not). I think he's a true artist, and I'm so glad he's wanting to be taken seriously by writing and starring in his own Drama. I haven't seen all of it but I will do soon, he should do something else next.
