The clone concept of not knowing who the original is, is a key aspect of some bad guys called the Mauler Twins in the Invincible comicbook series and it’s actually so interesting that Karl thought about that dilemma, I like Ricky Gervais at times but he really doesn’t give Karl enough credit for being intelligent in his own way

Surely you would know that you had been cloned though, therefore you would know you're the original? Unless you both have exactly the same memories, but then that isn't really a clone.

@@scerpalman Clones would never have the same memories. A clone is a normal person that just looks like you. How they are brought up and the choices they make will mold their personality so it will be completely different to the original person. gotta say, that "how would I know which one I was" is smarter then the other two guys got. he specifically asked "does he know what I know"; so basically asking "is it really and exact copy in that moment down to the knowledge and thoughts". in that case the question makes sense, because both versions would think they are the real one and both versions wouldn't want to end whatever that existence would be at the end of this one day.

I strangely agree with him on the last one as the other exact replica would also have same memories thoughts and believe he was original Karl. So you would maybe think 🤔 Am I original me or are the memories there just because we are exact replicas. The other one would also have been told he’s meeting an exact replica of himself. His truth & the replicas truth would be exactly the same. So how could you say for definite to yourself that you are the original you🤔 if that makes sense 😬

What he is trying to say about jellyfish and octopi is that they appear, move and act alien compared to most other living species, which is true. The Clive Warren idea was part of S04 E06 Black Museum in the Black Mirror series. When he tried to "see" his toe without using his eyes he was trying to do a type of meditation. I also understand his questions regarding our consciousness and the awareness of our own existence. The way he expresses it though is utterly hilarious and no one in the world takes the mick out of someone like Ricky Gervais. And Stephen Merchant really increases the overall average height of the show.
