What makes Karlach so interesting for Artemis, are her tags. Being a DPS means, that she too will be observed by him. Overall her buffing capabilities look interesting, but unfortunately she shares a seat with Antrius :'-( As always good video and thanks for the awesome guide.

Really, the biggest downside to Karlach is her Seat tbh

@ZenciVer2 & @tyredack I understand the problem sharing with Kent or Krux (DPS) for Artemis, but is Antrius that good? I don't use him a lot, I usually don't worry a lot about the charisma, but more on the positional/dps role buffs. Let me know if I'm missing anything for Antrius, as I probably am.

It just comes down to the fact he has a pre-stack multiplicative bonus with Suave and Sophisticated. With high ilvl investment he pumps really good numbers to be Observed from other DPS with Inspiring Song. It can be a hassle to get it on everyone, depending on the formation, to fully benefit from it though.

I haven't run the numbers to know how much difference it makes, but one thing I've found in Lae'zel's favor when focusing the affiliation is that while keeping the entire affiliation on the field I find it much easier to get Wyll's main buff to hit Lea'zel better than Karlack, there just aren't as many barbarians and/or tieflings that slot in with the team based on the remaining available seats as their are fighters and Gith (generally Nayeli with a feat and Nrakk are plenty of Gith)

It's for sure easier to solidify Lae'zel as the DPS of the group, which is why it's a bit frustrating Karlach has higher DPS potential in terms of raw numbers. With the seats left available if you're using the whole Ceremorphosis crew (including Nrakk, Imoen, and Viconia) it's impossible to set her up properly with Wyll currently. Aila is the only viable Barbarian and she tips the races into dominate Elf. Mehen with his Tiefling Feat would help for the last slot in that formation *if* we had 1 other Tiefling Feat in that bunch, but alas.

In the groups I was running Lae'zel comes out better as the DPS. Also, with Lae'zel 3rd specialiation it makes her magic based attack, which mean the magic modron core will with her. @@tyredack

Very true about the core! All in all if you're looking to run AA Lae'zel is the pick tbh, it's just strange to me that Karlach has better scaling but is better served as a DPS outside of her own affiliation.

I don't remember the last time it came up, but at the barest minimum, Zariel variants have a tank. I just wish she could pull in the rest of her affiliation.

I’m definitely starting to see the problems with Wyll now that the affiliation is filling out more. Getting more than 2 stacks on the DPS while maintaining Ceremorphosis stacks is getting increasingly difficult… I’m praying Dark Urge comes with specialisations that let you pick the race/class they count as. That would help a lot. For Karlach DPS rn, I feel like the best option is to dump Viconia for Pwent to get the extra Barbarian (and reduce cleric count by 1) and use Shaka for Tiefling, though the randomness he causes is also not the most desirable thing

Yeah, that's not a bad set up for her. I find it unfortunate you have to look outside her affiliation to fill roles. Though, her not directly scaling off Ceremorphosis when being used for damage makes it better, still feels off.

Not even a nod to Farideh? I know there was already a tiefling in the slot with Kent, but I for one am excieted to have a second tanking tiefling who buffs the slot behind her. Great overview and it was informative to see you make and absolute adversaries team!

I should have brought her up for sure! Any tiefling is news for her, even if it's in a Seat that already had one who, like you said, does synergize with her.

It kind of feels like the synergy of AA as a group is a little lacking outside of Ceremorphosis stacks. That said, Karlach is great. She actually outbuffs the hippo at similar items levels and full variant completion, but that is a lot of work and resources to put into a single champion. Especially since hippo is evergreen, he'll almost certainly be the better option for most players. It's kind of hard to test her damage though, since variant completion and evergreen item levels are basically locked for each account and can vary wildly. Someone on the discord says their itemless Karlach outbuffs an item level 1000 hippo with full variants done, but that is a pretty unique scenario. Anyway, I'm still holding out hope for a dedicated AA DPS who makes the group feel a bit more cohesive, but we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, that is a bit of her conundrum. High ceiling, but a lot of work to get there, and not the greatest cohesion if you want her to DPS. We still have some more AA to hope for in the future, ideally, we'll get some more DPS options along the way. Only time will tell.

Maybe next season we will get "Healers!" and they will make 5 champs % based healers to fix this very core issue. Unless they just don't want to fix it, which if that is the case would be nice of them to say

Even if it wasn't % those numbers need a buff one way or the other, for sure. I think it was my Brother Uriah video where I go over the math that it would take him literally 18 in-game hours to fully heal my Briv's HP. That's just bonkers.

@@tyredack I hope that they increase the soft cap and increase the end zone. Z2500 or Z3,000 Not that I can make it past 1,300 and even that requires a lot of effort and finagling Nrakk, but at least then they'd be able to give all the healing abilities a massive ramp up after the current level cap, so that healing could possibly maybe mean something. Maybe they counter click debuff by having the scaling drop to half at a certain point. It looks like it's been about 2 years since the last soft cap increase, so hopefully in 3-5 months maybe just maybe?

Not complaining about the love Baldurs Gate 3 gets, but my first Tiefling was Neeshka, so that's who I hope for in the future. Just Deekin is a bit sad for that great a game series.

My warduke/AA heavily shinied formation is getting high up in numbers... also imoen because she is both a human and has ceremorphosis stacks I think the highest i saw with lethal coordination was e34.

They're certainly climbing on up there. It's too bad Warduke is in the same seat as one of the possible ceremorphosis stacks. Will be fun with we (likely) get a full team of 10 stacks.

How did you get all Karlach’s epics? What do I need to do?

Really it just comes down to playing the game for a long time. There are two main methods. Event: During a new Champion's event have enough Bounty Contracts from amassing lots of chests and only using them during an event for the event currency and spam the new Champion's Free Play to 50+ for the chest reward enough times to get there. Patrons: Having enough Patron currency to purchase enough viable Patron Chests for the new Champion (they have to qualify for that Patron). Epics are prioritized to Champions who don't already have epics. Since I have all of my Champions full epic (FE) any new epic I get from a Patron Chest will go to the new Champion, if they are viable to receive it from that chest.

My first thought was Karlach doesn't seem very appealing, because I don't want her to get hit. She's like the opposite of speed, DPS / tanking / slow. If you go fast, she's just losing 60% of rage over and over. I'm happier with Laezel in my Warduke party and just immediately taking out a few enemies thanks to 14 positionals and moving on. But idk, I'm still new at this game.

With mechanics like hers it's less that you want to go slow and more that she starts to scale really well when you reach the later levels of a run when you need harder scaling to kick in. Once you get a lot of those Zariel Variants completed her base numbers are really good even before that too.

Is this a Jaheira DPS formation you gave setup in the video? Or is this Lae’zel DPS?

That was with Lae'zel as DPS, Jaheira was there to give Lae'zel a Fighter to pull from for Wyll, while maintaining the Baldur's Gate theme.

Valentine says "May the best bad arse bitch win the BUD!" Me meanwhile: "Oh crap, I might not be using just males anymore for my formations... My main DPS/Supporters like Kent are no longer my strongest, which conflicts with all the 'male damage dealer' they landed on, but at least Kent has a full dismantle so I can suck a few item levels into Briv, and redistribute his DPS pigments and legendaries." I'm too new to have full epics though so any like evergreen or champ I use every now and then I slot on a legendary and every season I'm gonna reset them to potions, until they have more than 2 or 3 epics, so that I can stockpile legendary potions that only cost 500 scales. Thinking months in advance. Gonna have to figure out if I CAN make La'zael a main DPS, not sure I have the roster for Wyll, and to be honest I don't have the gem farm to drop 150k on gem tadpole feats, so... we'll just have to see. Until Briv gets to 4 jump with feat locked in, I have time to fiddle with stuff and figure out which affiliation and DPS to go heavier into. The nice thing is that Asterion, Karlach, have BUD mechanics, and Lae'Zael gives BUD mechanics. I probably won't be able to do Lae'Zael as a main DPS anyway until I have Cattie Brie built, cause she seems like she might need that crit and crit D boost.

Karlack is an interesting character as tank and support. If i used Lae'zel as dps, i would give her the champion specialization to increase her chance to critical hit as well as crit damage, and would be using Wulfgar as a tank. With Karlack as a dps, i wander about combining her with Valentine and Tatyana

I just wish using Karlach as a DPS didn't require looking outside of her affiliation. Though, if you're using her as DPS she doesn't directly scale with Ceremorphosis so it's not the worst thing, but still.
