Agreed. I kept the pad wet and stayed off the edges. The mini buffer is good, but I'm still shy around the edges with it. Always trying to remember to change the points where I'm changing directions. I learned that from a buffing MASTER!!!

Another big milestone - you have a car now! It's just a matter of bringing the parts back together one by one.

Greg the car is looking great won't be long now and you will be cruising! I use 3m 8011 black weatherstrip adhesive, I have found is the best for me when installing weatherstrips sticks quick and holds great!

No doubt. From peeley to dull to shiny. It's so cool to see it happen.

It's a motorgard pad. The black side is a bit harder than the grey side. You can use them to block really curvy panels or to color sand... With the colorsand, you can use 1500 on the black side, then 1500 on the soft/grey side, then 2000 on the grey side. Pete from SWRNC has some excellent videos on color sanding and buffing. He always explains the pad usage well.

Yes. The refurbs are getting fewer, but there are still parts that need to be fixed/cleaned/painted before reinstall... I am throwing away a lot of plastic bags lately!!! My shelves are starting to actually have empty spots on them as well.

No problem. Be sure to watch Pete's colorsand vids. I think Darrin has a couple good ones too.

Yes, wool is difficult as well. The white pad may take a bit longer, but that is a good thing when you screw up.

You are right. I've tried compounding by hand and just can't get the same result as with the mini buffer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can continue to be successful with it.

Looks good Greg, x2 on DoublecabTom's recommendation of the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, I used that on my truck, setup time is pretty fast so you can't doddle.

Motorgard SB-1. Most bodyshop suppliers carry them. The big boys buy them by the case.

I'll be honest, your body gets used to whatever you do to it. If you sleep lots, your body will want to sleep. If you exercise a lot, your body gets used to that too. I'm up early in the morning running/biking and when I get home I'm either working on real work or out in the shop. NO T.V.!!! I do lose consciousness some days and the sleep monster wins. DON'T LET YOUR MEAT LOAF!!! :D

You can use masking tape to cover up the edges and tricky places (like the curves on the middle of the door); do the job with the big tool and after that remove the tape and do it by hand at the edges. If i remember right, Pete had a video about this as well, using kinda' the same technique i just said (on diyautoschool)
