I'd really like Betamon with the Seadramon line to be a main digimon partner. I know it would require a lot of water, but I remember my favorite episode of 02 was when Davis and co are traveling the world, and the Tamer with Betamon shows up. It was nice and I enjoyed it so much. My honorable mention.

Ever since Survive came out, I've been in love with the idea of Gazimon evolving into Fangmon. One of my most recent tamer OCs has a Gazimon that evolves into Fangmon, then Cerberumon, then Beelzemon. I feel like those all go together nicely.

If you ask me, we need more Virus-type partners in general. Outside of Guilmon, and an occasional side character's partner like Michael's Betamon or Megumi and Miki's PawnChessmon, there really aren't any in the anime (especially if we discount the very recent addition of Xros Wars Digimon's attributes). Thankfully, they're much more prominent in the games, but yeah, we could really use more in the anime...... and sadly, I get the feeling we're still not gonna see any anytime soon, not so long as Adventure keeps getting milked the way it's been.

@@TheRealPunkachu Technically, Impmon didn't even become a Partner (at least not officially) until practically the last minute. Still, he is a pretty good example, and aside from being a Virus, he's also a Nightmare Soldier demon, and even evolves into one of the Seven Great Demon Lords (though I believe that group was only established well after the fact). Impmon's pretty much the complete anti-thesis to what a protagonistic Digimon can be, at least if you paid attention to the anime (and in fact, even he spends most of the series as an atagonist, both a minor nuisance and a lethal threat, before having a redemption arc). Even in the games, you're pretty hard-pressed to find NPCs raising a demon of any sort, the only examples off the top of my head being Tamer unions that specialize in such Digimon, like Black Sword in Digimon World 2 (which gives out PicoDevimon as a starter) and Night Claw in Digimon Story Moonlight (whose commander is partnered with a ChaosDukemon), plus Dracumon being one of the main Partners in the upcoming Digimon Survive, and Mirei raises a LadyDevimon alongside her Angewomon. There's also the Hacker Team Demons in Cyber Sleuth, but aside from being morally bankrupt, their most notable members drop their demonic Digimon partway through (Jimmy Ken's Devimon just stops appearing after the first battle with him, either ditched or possibly evolved into a BlueMeramon, while K's SkullSatamon gets killed in a cutscene).

I am very interested to see Lucemon as a partner Digimon. His backstory could be him being ostracized by other Digimon because a previous Lucemon threatened the Digital World. He would later be found by an elderly Digimon who takes care of him and teaches him that he chooses who he could be. This Lucemon then decides to try helping other Digimon, slowly gaining the trust of others around him. His partner could be a girl who is bullied or otherwise avoided by her classmates; they become partners due to their similar lives. Later on, he ends up Dark Digivolving into Falldown Mode due to a Digimon hurting his partner. He goes on a rampage until his partner calms his down and, shocked at what he did, he ends up running away. His partner and the elderly Digimon find him and reassure him, convincing him to return. Later on, he would digivolve into like a purified version of Falldown Mode, but stronger. I'm really interested to see a holy digivolution line for Lucemon. Alternatively, I would also like to see PicoDevimon as a partner Digimon. He could digivolve into Devimon and then Vamdemon, but instead of VenomVamdemon or BelialVamdemon, his Mega would be more heroic looking, or at the very least, not as monstrous. Like, maybe his new Mega would be some kind of armored vampire knight with a sword.

Those are really fantastic choices. Lucemon is in my top five favorite digimon (preceded by Lopmon, Impmon, Gatomon and Terriermon)Seeing him being cast in a more heroic role would be awesome. Same with Picodevimon. Honestly, having more traditionally evil digimon thrust into more positive roles is a great idea. I personally love Phascomon, despite the fact that he becomes Belphemon later on.

I've already picked my partner. And if only it were possible to make him materialize in this world, I would make it happen. Tsukaimon. The purple virus version of Patanon. He has two different evolution lines I chose for him. The first one is Youkomon-Cerberumon-Anubismon. Second one is Devidramon-Gigadramon-Goddramon. This little guy has so much potential. I went to Wikimon and I looked up who he can turn into. So that's how I came up with these evolution lines.

I definitely think we could use having any of Tsukaimon, Gazimon, or Demidevimon as partners, mainly because they’re usually just depicted as evil mooks and I feel it could be a nice change of pace. I also think Kokuwamon could work well as a partner Digimon. And I know it’s not a rookie, and technically it’s an armor digivolution, but I really want Kenkimon to get a proper evolution line themed around construction. I know it sort of officially evolves into Valvemon, but Valvemon just doesn’t click for me. Also Ghostmon and Crabmon. I can even think of an evolution line that could work for Crabmon: Crabmon > Ebidramon > MarineChimeramon > Regalecusmon

But yeah, his appearances were few and far in-between. I would love to see Betamon and its line take the stage. Seadramon and its evolutions are so cool.

Monmon, Bearmon and Kotemon are all Digimon that would totally work as partner digimon. They all have that cute and friendly vibe. All Bearmon needs is an official ultimate then you have so many options for his mega form. Kotemon could easily go several routes but I like the idea of him becoming SlashAngemon as his mega which is what he became in DW3. Monmon becoming Apemon to Gokuwmon would be so dope and then all he needs is an official mega. Maybe some kind of holy sage ape digimon. Sadly Monmon never got the love he deserved with the "line" he was given in DW3 which made no sense at all. Many of those other ones like Fanbeemon, Bulucomon etc would be perfect for a future anime. I'd love to see Dracomon become a partner digimon and maybe have it where the Digidestined has two of them so that they will eventually jogress into Examon.

I'm really looking forward to the future of the Digimon-Anime. There's a lot that can happen after Adventure 2020 ends and a lot of potential can be used. Sadly I'm not a huge fan of Shoutmon/Cross Wars and I haven't finished Applimon yet. So we'll see where the Future is going. I would wish for Dorumon, Ryudramon or Betamon to be a prominent Partner for a Main-Protag tho. (Dorumon kinda is already a Partner-Digimon in the Manga and Betamon a more Prominent Partner in 02 but still) Also Coronamon and Lunamon do have the Digipartner-Potential. (mostly because of them being the Main-Partner for the Protags from Digimon Dusk and Dawn.)

I really want a Digimon Adventure 03, where the partner Digimon are the Dark Masters and Myotismom after the are reborn (maybe Etemon, and Devimon too). Betamon already has such a throughline of evolution, and Mushroomon as well. Hagurumon would also be a great partner. I’m not too sure on what I would want Piedmon and Myotismon’s rookie forms to be, but Goblimon and DemiDevimon would of course be great for Etemon and Devimon. Honestly, I mainly want to see virus Digimon get some more love, and to see the original digidestined’s reactions.

Gazimon seems like it would be a cool partner once you win it over almost like a mix of Impmon and Gatomon type character being very independent and capable on its own. I just really like the idea of someone ending up in the digital world and having to earn the respect of a digimon to become their partner first sort of like Marcus fist fighting Agumon. I can see Gazimon being a bit of a troublemaker that likes a laugh so it starts picking on the new human at first but a prank ends up going to far and they have to work together to fix the mess and they them warm up to each other as they go about solving the problem. Then have them be friends going forward for another episode or two before they officially become partners with Gazimon having to digivolve to stop something from happening and only then does a digivice appear to show that they are partners. I really like the idea of a digimon and human who are both kind of pranksters and are constantly up to no good. While we do get some wise guys in digimon its usually either the human or the digimon and not both so I think this could be a fun way to play with the troupe.

Impmon was a fun character with a surprising digi evolution. Gazimon seem to always get the minion or follower treatment in the first and reboot series. Funny, Gazimon has a interesting evolution branch of dark based Digimons that makes you think careful evolving your Digimon partner. Your opposite personalities idea is a good callback to the previous series. Digimon Ghost Game have Digimons are that polar opposites to their human partners.

Agreed. I fell in love with those grinning jellyfish since the first movie came out and always wished they'd be showed in a more positive light. It'd actually be make for more interesting stories if one of the main digis being a more 'traditionally evil' type. Is there an internal struggle between those destructive instincts and doing what you know is right? Would it lead to a 'good' version of their digivolution path? How would their human partner react if they found out? Would it put a strain on their relationship? ...I...I think about this kind of stuff a lot. You are free to fact check me on this since I'm only half way through my own first playthrough, but I can't find anything even in spoilers. One of my favorite digimon is the Lunamon line. It’s so adorable yet when it evolves it becomes bad ass. I love the moon theme with it. Then Coronamon could be the a second partner and eventually get Gracenovamon as the fusion at the end of the series! I love the Olympus 12 digimon so a series on them would be cool in general

I think Goblinmon would be a good partner. I love the Ogremon line so, so much and giving it the spotlight as a character's partner would be great. Especially in an Olympos XII-focused anime, as it can have Titamon as its mega. Or maybe Titamon could be a dark digivolution.

I first saw Monmon in Digimon World 2003 Playstation videogame. It evolved into Hookmon, then Cannondramon. Never was able to digivolve it further, becaused I finished the game without using max digivolved digimon

I've always wanted to see Ogremon get their time in the sun after their redemption in Adventure, maybe have their tamer have the Crest of sincerity and be a Joe like character or the Male Love Tamer like you mentioned and have this conflict between the more aggressive Digimon and softer tamer, have the Goblimon/Ogremon originally motivated by power or just the will to fight, maybe after a big defeat they become more reserved and closed off and become Digitamamon then after coming together with their tamer and learning to love or something they reach their Mega level Titamon who fights for their friends.

Dracomon really needs a partner. It’s got a good look for main lead or any member on a digimon team, you can have two digidestins with each having dracomon but the two have different digivolutions that dracomon has, and would have an epic moment where the megas of dracomon jogress together to become the royal knight examon.

I would love to see an mc of a digimon anime be beside their Metalseadramon as it launches it's River of Power at full blast or be on Dorugoramon's back as it slams into a major villain with Brave Metal. I’m just going to say this, but in Digimon Rearize, it seems that Bearmon was given to a new character who joins you deep in the story, so here’s hoping he gets a unique Ultimate and Mega Digimon evolution. And as for me, I want to see Bulucomon in the anime and in Rearize. I love Ice based Digimon, and I feel like that element is not represented a lot, so Bulucomon would be awesome to see as a partner. Maybe the rival would have Vorvomon, kind of a Ice Dragon vs Fire Dragon opposite.

great video as always man! Heck yeah I really do had these thoughts myself when seein these Digimon designs. Spardamon when he first appeared in Dig Xros Wars I legit thought he was gonna be someone's partner or have a new kid join in the fray with how little Tamers or in that storyline... kindda like Digi Lords having to capture areas of the Digital World But no, he just becomes like a part of Shoutmon and I'm not a huge fan of fusion especially when it comes to Shoutmon anything just becomes a weapon or limbs for the guy then changing the Digimon all around Really enjoyed this one as I did wanted Digimon like Bearmon and Kotemon to have some happy endin and maybe still stayed friends with new sets of human partners after watchin Digimon Frontier's movie iirc the manga for digimon xros had wizardmon and gatomon had some connection to each other sooo why not?

The fact I can see these all working together makes it all the more amazing (cutting pulsemon and spardamon simply dew to having too many at first it's difficult but I can see bearmon as courage because typically the beast digimon is the duotaganist while the draconic digimon goes with the classic gogglehead but having a maybe fire based ultimate level bear beast digimon instead of the normal fire dragon would be amazing and fits amazng with, "blue comb" (sorry had to say it the misspelling in the chapters is just too funny) as friendship as the classic ice still being with friendship but this time switcing it to the dragon digimon making it come full circle and do you even need to hear me out on the rest hyokomon as love fanbeamon as intelligent, monmon as sincerity (would be an even cooler callback to mimi helping and in turn getting help from metal etamon back in adventure 01 with monmon mega being kingetamon) kotemon as responsible (or reliability whichever you prefer) (once again a callback to helping etamon as linking monmon and kotemon being mimi and Joe the 2 that helped him coming from the same game and a different call back to pardon me for forgetting but armadillomons tamer yk the one that played kendo getting the digiegg of responsible) then lyomon as hope cause like come on it maybe even evolving into leomon makes it even better but even without it the whole thing of hope and bancho go so well together and if you wanna throw in some spice the secret 8th digidestined with a partner of zubamon who with light

I can imagine the story going that he starts with his full data line, becomes corrupted much like Meicoomon did in Tri and going through the whole Death-X line, before getting purified and becoming Alphamon, who is my singular most favourite Digimon ever.

I would like to see Salamon as a main partner Digimon. I know we had Kari and all but her partner spent almost all the time as Gatomon and we rarely got to see Salamon. Also I'd hope they go down at different evolution line that Gatomon and Angewomon, maybe something like Witchmon?

Kokabuterimon was actually introduced with a full line in Accel. Blade Kuwagamon, Metalife Kuwagamon, and Tyrant Kabuterimon respectively. They’re all pretty strong from what I can tell, with swarms of Blade Kuwagamon being able to take out Mega levels they should have no business fighting. Could work really well on a Ken type character that starts as an enemy, to overwhelm the heroes at the beginning. Personally, I’d love to see Digimon that were previously used as villains become partners. They’re usually either stupidly strong, or have some gimmick that makes them difficult to get rid of for at least an episode, and you could get a ton of mileage out of that if they were main characters. Things like a partner Keramon skipping over its champion form at the cost of energy for a surprise attack, Splashmon making a coordinated strike with it’s Drippins, Wendigomon warping the fabric of reality and forcibly devolving opponents, all that good stuff.

Not going to lie, I think it would be kind of funny hearing Zubamon constantly, and proudly, referring to itself as “the twentiest” if the wiki page is anything to go by. As for Digimon partners, there are lots of Digimon I could see as partners, unfortunately the one I would personally like as my own partner would make a pretty bad partner unless there was a way to deal with it’s personality and it’s evolutions are more on the evil side.

Dracomon would make a fine addition to an anime roster, its design is cool looking yet simplistic has a full fledged line from Baby to Ultimate (actually has two full, and converged, lines but you get my drift) and if you stick to whole Adventure's crest pattern it would fit well as partner to bearer of the crest of courage or... the crest of knowledge (as wisdom and dragons tend to mix well usually). I could even picture a scenario with a dynamic similar to that of Kouji and Koichi had in Frontier: siblings in opposing factions, forced to face each other yet eventually end up jogressing their partners into Examon once they've to settle their discrepancies aside. .P.S.: I would also mention Ryudamon, for the very same reasons you've brought both Kotemon and Hyoukomon up (and also due to how amazing Hisyaryumon looks).

Can I just say that videos like these are super helpful for writers like me? The wiki isn't too helpful when looking for Digimon that are rookies and have full digivolution lines that aren't shared with other Digimon (or at least fit the Digimon in question rather than clearly being filler). Definitely agree that Zubamon, Bulucomon, Liollmon and Pulsemon would make for excellent partners, although between Liollmon and the Jeri/Leomon biomerge from the other video, I have to resist the temptation to just give everyone a lion digimon as a partner.

You know Karn? I love insectoid Digimon (yes Tentomon, yes Stingmon!) and I just very recently sketching roughly about FanBeemon's partner! Guess what? He is one of Koushiro and Mimi's children (yes yes yes, I shipping KouMi since day one, when I was just a 5 grade elementary student and still shipping them until now.. I am persistent, I know.. hahahaha). His name is Izumi Mitsuyuki with 光 'Light' (tribute to 光 (Kou) in Koushiro, his father's name) and 侑 'Help Someone' kanjis as his name, in a hope that he'll grow as someone whose willingly be a light to help everyone else, just like his father (and his mother too, I guess)... I chose 'Mitsu' also because its part of 'Hachimitsu' (honey) which we all knew is what Bees gathered of.. His looks is more like Mimi, but with brownish-red hair, a mix of his parents'. His hair design was a bit like Yoh Asakura from Shaman King, slicked back with a thin headband but without much bangs, orange headphone around his neck and always chews some gum. He somewhat looks like he was lazy, not interested with anything and my-pace person, but if a big problem arise and someone really needs his help, he'll throw away his gum and used his genius brain to furiously search some information on his tablet, just like his father. And he was partnered with a FanBeemon with cheerful, curious and always exited for adventure personality, whose in the end, always drags (or flies) an unmotivated Mitsuyuki everywhere.. So yeah, that was my rough-sketching for FanBeemon's partner! Hope you like it.. errr him! P.S: Mitsuyuki is the youngest, KouMi's other children are a girl named Meimi (明美 'Bright Beauty') partnered with Hudiemon (Morphmon as her rookies maybe?) and Taketomo (剛知 'Strong Knowledge') partnered with the brand new Pomumon!
