I like the color changing of forms to make them fit. I did the same thing for my friend in the digimon ttrpg that I run. She wanted to use the Renamon line but doesn't like Renamon, so she made up a custom rookie, then I altered the evolutions to fit the more reddish-pink color scheme she wanted. Win-win.

Golden AeroVdramon could work for Magnamon as his wings are tattered so you could say that his wings become so damaged that when he Digivolves, he acquires the thrusters in his shoulder pads and feet to make up for the loss of his wings.

I like the idea of just changing the colors so visually it would look good and yeah that's what they would do and since they change Rapidmon's levels up and like how Gotsumon has two evolutions that just change the color, you could if it looks good, change not only the color but make the variant whatever level/evolution you need because again, Digimon has done that. Might help with videos like this in the future so it's not much of a struggle. I guess that could be be cheating sometimes but you know, if you ran out of ideas for one, it would be cool!

I always feel so bad for Rapidmon Armor, dude got cheated out of his Royal Knight slot. Anyways, as other people have said, I think the custom color variants is cool to do occasionally as long as it's in cases where it's really necessary or really helps tie things together, I do it myself with the charts I sometimes make (I wish I had someplace to share them 😭). Anyways, i really like Sparrowmon > Peacockmon and Zubamon > Rhinomon, and I can't believe I've never thought about Elephantmon as a Mammon prevolution (I think I've always been so obsessed with making Bakumon the child stage I passed over considering it, so happy Baluchimon exists now!). Also man, there is a LOT of armor digimon that are just [normal animal]mon, huh?

I personally like the idea of you making your own recolors and variants as it opens to the door to more what if possibilities of evolution lines. Especially when not just armor digimon but other digimon outside of armors look like they can fit into other evolutions but can't due to coloration disconnection or level confusion.

When it comes to Goldveedramon I will always love having Goldramon as it's mega evolution. I actually prefer Goldramon as a Veedramon evolution rather than Patamon's though ever since they had it that way back with Digimon World DS.

I like the reworking colors, I've kind of thought it for a while. I don't think searchmon needed it though, a smoother transition from green wormmon to a normal looking searxhmon, to finally hitting gold on herculeskabuterimon, it seems more natural than the green to instantly gold all over everywhere. A middleground could be searchmon's markings being gold instead of the whole body? I would like to see the recolor continue, the mammothmon recolor was FLAWLESS and awesome 👌

If a simple recolor would make a Digivolution fit you should be willing to do that. Digimon creative have done far more to make a Digvolution fit, usually resulting in a "new" Digimon that is basically another Digimon with a few belts and maybe a whistle or bell added on.

I think RaptorSparrowmon does work really well as a bridge between Hawkmon and Peacockmon, but my first thought before you brought that up was MailBirdramon. While RaptorSparrowmon might have been a better pick, especially if we're going with the more golden recolor for Peacockmon, if we're keeping the original colors, I really like MailBirdramon over Jazardmon. It has the connection of being a Birdramon and therefore calling back to Sora and the crest of love. I think it fits really well as that bridge between the two (plus I just want to see it used more as well).

I've always thought Rhinomon would be way more fitting for the earth themed armadillomon, with it's yellow color scheme and very terrestrial, grounded aesthetic, while elephantmon should have been Patamon's golden armor, with his ear wing thingsbecoming elephantmon's ear wing fan things and the generally more air like elemented elephantmon coming from more of a flying digimon. Honestly, it just feels like armadillomon and hawkmon really got shafted a bit with their lines.

I loved seeing the variant digimon, I've always loved seeing variant digimon like the Nise Digimon and the Proffession digimon and even the digimon who are just a single colour swapped, such as with palmon and alraumon, digivolve and become wildly different species, it reminds me of the terriermon lopmon siblings. I feel like every digimon deserves a canon through line, like how we got the agumon line refering to agumon->greymon->metalgreymon->wargreymon even though technically Tyrannomon is the intended champion. I actually think it would be really cool if you could take some obscure digimon that either have an almost complete line or who are independent and creating new digimon to suit them. One that came to mind at first is Dinohumon, the wiki(wikimon) says that it's only canon pre-evo is betamon, and doesn't have a canon through line after that.

I made my own lines for the golden armors a while back, treating them all as Ultimate levels that evolve from other armors. I realized that Elephantmon just kind of sucks in general, but I did notice both it and Frogmon are both cyborgs that fly using dual propellers. I also realized we don't have a lot of armored dragons that aren't Royal Knights and there isn't anything I love for Maildramon. I used MagnaGarurumon for a Rapidmon evo since it is ostensibly a dog, and a gold variant would go pretty hard.

Custom Art Videos are usually great to see but seeing just color variants are also great! Also fantastic to see, I would just say, for some, go a little harder, like with that Mammothmon, the symbol on the trunk mask, could have been a different color while the mask being otherwise entirely golden would have worked, plus, SkullMammothmon, heh there was an opportunity there to metallize the bones, like with rose gold maybe, for the sake of fun? Point is, it's nice to see ya go for color variants, it's just fun to go for changing more than just one color ya know

To go along with your idea of the data of the Digiegg being integrated into the data of the digimon, since we don't see Gold V-Dramon in the anime, after becoming Gold V-Mon, their champion would become Gold V-Dramon (instead of Gold XV-mon like you said), then OmniShoutmon as the Ultimate/Perfect, and a change the skin of Magnamon to Gold as well, and consider Magnamon as a "Mode Change." to regular Magnamon, you could call it Magnamon: Magnificent Mode because they've tapped into the full power of the Digiegg of Miracles.

Personally, I'd say use whatever you feel works best for the video. Regardless of if you feel that an existing Digimon, a new color variant, or a custom Digimon fit the evolution line best, I say go for it.

I’ve always seen Magnamon as an ultimate and a gold recolor of Ultraforceveedramon as the mega. It works with regular Veemon and ExVeemon as well. Or if it’s not a golden armor, then recolor Magnamon’s gold with that light blue of ultraforceveedramon and that’s also a great looking line.

as part of a DnDigimon campaign i had a Rhinomon line be Psychemon to Drimogemon to Rhinomon and then the mega was difficult, since YaegerDorulumon isnt a mega, so i chose Z'dGarurumon since i thought of it as the horn becoming the massive cannon and because the rookie is Psychemon, who is a variant of Gabumon, so the mega being Z'd, a variant of MetalGarurumon, i thought worked well

I feel GoldRapidmon could just be an alternate Mega for the main Terriermon Line. It's different enough looking from regular rapidmon (comparing their official Anime art makes Gold look much bulkier than green for example) and it'd be like Leomon become Panjyamon, or if you rename it to specifically GoldRapidmon, it's like other digivolution lines like (Angemon, Gaurumon, Greymon, etc.) that keep the same root name between multiple forms. And, as a bonus, it'd be a much better base Mega than MegaGargomon.

Video/discussio Suggestion: if we follow the logic that Rapidmon is Terriermon's "normal" Ultimate powered up to mega and therefore that a "normal" ultimate for Veemon (sans DNA) would be a non gold Magnamon then: A) what would non gold magnamon look like and what would be its mega (its Megagargomon equivalent) B) what new lines would this open up for the other kids following the logic (eg. Is a non-gold rhinomon a theoretical Patamon champion- if gold increases level by1- and what would that line look like?)?

Considering Destiny just also makes a Gold variant of Rapidmon like with V-dramon It would be funny to me that if in Adventure canon if that's just what it does, there are no unique Digimon from it only Gold variants one level higher than the original I love the use of recolors and it is a very in universe thing that would happen

Gold V-dramon is consistent with Rapidmon, as both are golden variants of digimon from their base's line. When making up my own digimon for the Digimental of Fate, I usually go with golden variants for this reason. I like to stick Gold V-dramon and Magnamon in the same line, having XV-mon or V-dramon evolve to Gold V-dramon and ending on Magnamon.

Yes going forward if instead of making a costume art for a video a quick colour swap and name change is fine. Like for the ikkakumon having the white leomon as the ultimate and a white saber leomon as the mega would be fine. Or using your custom art that was already used is also fine like the frontier fusion spirit of thunder Ragna Beatmon would be a great mega for Agumon with the knowledge crest as it has the same feel as war Graymon.

I totally support the recolors as long as it's disclosed that they're recolors. A lot of the recolors were a little too saturated in color. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind if you donthen again.

Thanks, that's just mostly cause of how trying to make specifically GOLD works with trying to work the existing base Digimon in Photoshop. It wouldn't be so much a factor when making non-gold variants but I'll keep an eye on it :)

It's cool to use your own variants but maybe keep some accent colours, that might be harder to do but like with XVemon he looses all his blue but Magnamon still has some blue, so you could make the wings and maybe the X on his chest blue and the rest Gold so there is still some blue. I know it just a small nitpick but would be cool. But depending on your editing skills it might be more difficult to do.

Imo I don't like fan repaints when it feels like cheating, like the GoldVdramon recolors and Terriermon recolors. But I like them in all the other lines. Garurumon colored SaberLeomon is actually amazing! The only idea I have is Seisamon for Terriermon to Rapidmon but I can't think of a ultimate. Its a dog with some gold and white fur like Rapidmon.

Personally I feel like new variants should be used but only sparingly, and that existing custom art should definitely be used but that you should definitely provide an alternative when you do. I also personally want some kind of wiki or similar master list of all your custom art digimon for my own purposes
