Your discussion at the end of how you think you're so grown-up at 18 is SO REAL. I'm 26 and every time I see that one of my peers from high school or college is getting married or having a kid, I think, "Aren't you a little young for that???" before remembering that getting married and having kids at 26 is...actually normal. Wild.

When I was a teen, I used to literally cry whenever I looked at my photos, so I never took any. Most of all I hated when someone took them when I was having fun, the contrast was too grotesque to bear. Each time, I thought I looked even uglier, more repulsive and inhuman - and each time I thought "oh, those previous ones aren't quite as bad, these are the absolute worst"; and yet somehow I never connected the dots... Then one day I looked at those earliest ones, and what I saw was a normal kid, precious in her vulnerability and youth. Now I look at that very modest documentation of my adolescence and regret so much I have so little memories pictured. I've started regularly taking selfies, especially when I'm having fun or feeling happy. I still feel ugly and unworthy, but now I know I'll keep on growing more mature and healthy about it, and I'll be so glad I have those photos to look back on. The most valuable ones are those with your friends when you're just having silly fun... Looks don't matter. Cringe and cool don't matter (Lord knows they're just made up and extremely fickle, it's not even gonna register in a couple of years yet alone stay valid). It's my life and that's why it's beautiful and worth preserving. Personal photos are time capsules, not works of art.
@Lewisiaisoutofcontext

I relate so much to this. I developed BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) when I was around 14. It was focused around my face and I hated how I looked. I literally thought the sight of me made other people feel sick. Never took any pictures, never let anyone else take any pictures either. The only ones I have from that time are extremely overexposed and edited selfies where you can't see anything other than my eyes. I met my best friend at 14 and we barely have any pictures together because of that reason. 11 years later and I'm regretting it so much. But at the same time, I'm a lot better now and I'm slowly getting to the point where I can take unedited selfies and not cry. I hope you're doing well. You're not alone. ❤

Stop! What you're focusing on is how you felt at the time, and since you had limited life experience, it felt much worse than it would if you did the same thing today. Try focusing on what you were doing, rather then how you felt, i.e. you were a teen and their friend, exploring art and creativity and the world around you. The farmer came over to check on you two, not because he was angry, but because he needed to take care of his animals and didn't want to negatively impact you two or the animals. From an outside perspective, that's a very positive, wholesome event. Think about it, and maybe call/message that friend and talk about it. I PROMISE it was no where NEAR as awful as you remember. Sincerely, a person in their 30's.

I love her whole vintage vibes, but honestly, seeing her in more "modern" styles is kind of amazing and I love it. She gorgeous all the time, but I love these modeling pics. You're amazing Karolina, and I hope you enjoyed looking back on this. Also, the modern hair was actually incredibly flattering. But. Again, still beautiful now too

@@TheVirtualJenesis here's advice kid I'm 68 and I look at people who are in there 30s as kids who have kids. Once you live a very long time you start appreciating your times when you were at your youth and wish you weren't so hard on yourself to mature extremely fast especially during your darn teen years. Some advice, go with the flow as people say and with positive and negative experiences maturity comes naturally. Right now you are 17 going on to 18. 17-18-19 THAT IS NOTHING you haven't even lived 1/5 of your life yet. Your a snotty nosed teen go out and make as many memories and experiences as possible, take lots weird pictures and videos to cringe and laugh at when you are older. At 18 I did so many idiotic things I wish I captured that would've made me have a good laugh today but i didn't have the luxury to record it. I have talked to many people who say they feel a sense of jealousy and envy against young people beacuase of the lack of regrets they had in life.. Live life to the fullest, you like someone? go talk to them. Having the chance to tell your parents you love them is is luxury. I can ramble on forever but my point is you are young and dumb live a life that makes you smile in your death bed

As a fellow mid-90s kid, this was so great. I've been off social media for years and don't tend to take many photos of myself so it really got me thinking... I feel like I can barely remember who I was then - maybe not having social media or much memorabilia from that time has given me more freedom to reinvent myself. Definitely relate big time to what you said at the end of the video as well. Dziekuje bardzo! Keep up the awesome work! Edit: Speaking as a not-particularly dashing dude (but who has improved over the years in dress sense, grooming, blabla), it's also pretty mystifying to me that you could have ever thought you looked bad! Seriously, in my younger years I would have made non-trivial sacrifices to have similar aesthetics as you. Although not anymore because I've learned to love my own uhh.. ruggedness? (to some extent at least, lol.) Genuinely though, you're stunning! Enjoy it!

That video, my Goddess, the last video gave me chills. I think part of it definitely looks "home made" but some reminded me of those "slice of life" dramas, when you have either the collage of happiness before the peek of the drama, or the last scenes when everyone is gonna "separate" but still feeling hopeful of a tomorrow together, you know? with the soft happy music, the different images and sounds that make your "piece of the world". I think the video is brilliant and beautiful. I don't have a memory like that, I never had friends during high school, I actually had my first friends when I was 21-22 and only got to really deepen the relationship 7 years later. But still, the video made me almost cry, it was a good feeling. And if I think about it, maybe they didn't remind me of the time I was 18, but when I was 25, leaving the country, and saying goodbye to all my friends, but they were acting as if it was just another weekend, so that my possibly last memories of them where perfect. I have even lost 1 of those friends and the more I listen to that music, and watch the images, I feel more nostalgic of that time. Really, it was well done, no matter the errors or the quality, it conveyed a feeling, an emotion.
