I watched The Killer (2023) - 8/10 - _Pretty much everyone I've talked to was either underwhelmed by it or outright hated it which I'm not surprised with given how uneventful the movie is, but I liked it simply because it wasn't another John Wick or Extraction (not that there's anything wrong with that). Also, Why is no one talking how good the sound design of the movie is?_ Barbie - 8.5/10 - _The performances are all good but for me it was Greta Gerwig's direction that really makes this movie worthwhile. To think that a Barbie movie will give you some strong existential crisis is something I never thought I'd experience. Not to mention the brilliant production design._ Suzume - 7.5/10 - _Great setup and execution but the characters were underdeveloped and (mostly) feels like plot convenience and the romance felt forced. The animation and soundtracks are great._ The Creator - 7.5/10 - _I found it to be a very immersive viewing experience with a believable futuristic setting. From a production standpoint this movie is up there with Barbie, it's visually stunning. Narratively speaking, it takes some very obvious plot beats from many other movies (District 9 and Logan for example) but I feel like people are being needlessly harsh towards the screenplay. To be fair the criticisms are mostly valid but I feel like original sci-fi is just very hard to come by atleast in this massive scale. This movie reminds me so much of Avatar in that regard. That said, I feels like the movie should've been longer to fully realise it's global conflict. The little girl who played Alphie (don't remember her name) was surprisingly really good given the fact that this was her very first movie._ Space Dandy (Season 2) - 9/10 - _Artistically one of the best animated shows I've ever seen. Great stuff._ Ok bye.

To it's credit, it's little robot guys and his vehicles have gotten marketing and stuff, but it doesn't always make it to the west. The west wants the image of Ghibli to be remembered for the whimsy because those were the ones promoted when they were getting a better foot on marketing compared to when stuff like Castle In The Sky came out.
