Before you change the gear and the first snow falls, how smooth is the grass at RPM World Headquarters? Some cones a few yards apart and take the bodywork off is the perfect opportunity to learn car control. After all, you're not really a man until you hang it out sideways!

Its pretty rough out here, I wear a back brace on the mower and still cant walk upright for a few hours after cutting!!!! He was counter steering, sliding the kart, doing well other than the late or hard breaking which is my fault. He was riding the pedal and over cooking the brakes that one time and I may have over emphasized that. I have parts coming for this engine, nothing crazy just a manufactured throttle system and a new clutch with more teeth. I wont spend anymore $$$ on this package because its pointless down the road, if we take him to the track and line him up with other kids. But, I think getting the correct gearing and setting the kart up for a track and taking him to "Practice" is the next step. Then we'll let him decide if he wants to continue, if so, we'll get him a 206 package, more track practice preferably where he would race, then reevaluate with him again. If he wants to keep at it then, I will work over my in-laws and get him the proper Helmet, Suit, Collar, etc and start him racing. The in-laws and I spoke, and they agreed that he "needs access to regular practice" so they must make that same time and $$$ commitment WITH ME. I think were going to be ok, I have to troubleshoot why the engine stalls when turning hard right and fix it. Then I can start taking him to Freemont and or Lansing to start his track orientation. Its a challenge when its not your kid, but, they understand I'm not doing this if they wont let him get the practice he needs.
