Thank you!! i´ve always have the doubt: Why is sometimes better to stay in the middle of the turn and not in the outside? Like you did in turn 1

@@jmdldvl6445 Great question! At this tight and twisty indoor track, approaching the corner very wide will lose you time. This way you are wasting meters. Check out this video which explains the 'Three quarter rule', kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHWbdnZqlsapqKs

This really helped me transition from petrol karts to electric. I wasn't sure what to focus on when I tried the electric karts for the first time.

Hi, I had my first indoor gokart experience today( pretty late, i knw)... And geez, how i wished i saw your video earlier...Before jumping in the cart, i saw almost everyone doing drifting at corners and thought that was the way. I thought, i ended up almost stationery at exit because of my poor control of gas pedal. I will try out this technique next time. Thanks

Hi from Malaysia here. Just went for a spin the first time in electric karts, yup noobie mistakes of coming in fast, braking too late and sliding all over the place, the track is new for me as well about a minute a lap, so had to learn the track (hence overshooting) 🤣🤣 will try to brake earlier and drift less next time around . . . We have a number of karting tracks all over the country, usually gas powered but now electric karts also started as well

Well done - on the body tilting point; best to keep a central position, but avoid tilting into the corner.

I enjoyed the video. Only just got into karting. I was actually leaning into the corners until now. 🤣

what is the goal for slowing down in corners? is it to get your kart to be smooth through them? to avoid the shuddering that happens at full speed? to be able to smoothly take the ideal line?
@stormwah Жыл бұрын
if you slow down in the corners then you'll exit it way faster

Hey, great video! Though, to be honest, it seems like you approach every video targeting the basics of karting (getting on the power early or trying to minimize sliding), which also applies to ICE karts. For me personally, I wish that you would incorporate some more advanced tips (something that you would only do on an electric kart, and not on ICE, and vice versa)

Are you sure about the tilting? I am tilting into the corner, because then I reduce the weight on the outside, the grip on the wheels is high enough because of the weight of the cart and me, it's just that I am reducing the centrifugal force (the more weight is on the outside of the turn, the stronger is the cart pulled to the outside of the turn. Anyways I will try it but it doesn't make sense to me. The rest is fine. Thanks for the video and pointing it out, I will keep that on my mind.

So trail braking or nuetral steering for electric karts because I'm trying to figure out what's better.
@paulporteous41903 ай бұрын
Try not to use the break as much as you can this also helps! 👍

So what is the exact difference to driving conventional go karts? Also I have heard it's better not to hit the break pedal at all and just lift the gas pedal to reduce speed?
@abbd12372 жыл бұрын
That's for petrol carts. Electric you should use the brake more aggressively bc they accelerate well even in low rpm territory.
@Coasterlocity10 ай бұрын
They told me the same at K1 speed. It lowered my lap times til I hit my fastest lap.

Do you trailbrake these electric karts?
@CaptainAwesomeness3 жыл бұрын
I think the tip about leaning is definitely debatable. I have tried that as well as remaining neutral, and for me I have found that not shifting my weight when going into turns actually yielded better lap times for me. In short I'm trying to say your mileage may vary. I should also add that I'm very grateful that you did this video because I was using outdoor gas karting techniques on electric karts and that did not work out well for me. So I am glad that you proved my thoughts for me that indeed slow in fast out is the best formula with electric karts and/or indoor tracks for the most part.

Do they change the power of the cars depending on the age? Because I'm following all the instructions but i can't get below 29 seconds (15 btw)
@yongling98252 жыл бұрын
I think this totally depends on the kart's manufacturer. I just drove a Ferkart RKZ, which is their adult version of their lineup of karts.
@h8GW Жыл бұрын
I think it's a mistake to always assume the drifting is unintended.

How hard should we brake
@kartingtips3 жыл бұрын
Your aim should be to slow the kart down as fast as possible. Apply enough brake pressure that you are on the limit of sliding the rear end. If the rear end of the kart snaps out, you are braking too hard. Check out my dedicated video for braking: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqTdga15oK-kocU
