It seems as if certain versions of the EP25 (maybe hardware version 2.6) aren't supported by Home Assistant. If you have tested these and they do or don't work, please reply to this comment. Thx.

I noticed that the EP 25 says it works with Siri, but the EP 10 doesn't say anything. Do you know if both work with Siri?

I am unable to get the EP25P4 to work with home assistant, have you been able to get them to work at all?

What hardware and firmware version do you have? Mine is 1.0 for hardware and 1.0.11 for firmware. (Go to the plug in the app and tap the settings icon, then "Device Info".

I have a whole bunch of these Kasa outlets. I don't think any are the "monitoring" types. I'm going to have to look into that. The ones I have are the HS103 versions. i can say that I love these plugs! They've been flawless since the original purchase. Their WiFi capabilities are excellent. I have a couple in the garage, which is about 150 feet away from the house and the WiFi router (a gaming one) is inside. Yet, theses things connect and stay connected, even in the garage! As for using these to control and/or monitor a fridge or freezer, heater, AC or any high-draw appliance, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO NOT DO SO! As for fridges/freezers, all it would take is for there to be a power outage or glitch and/or the WiFi router stop working for these plugs to not work. You don't need them to accidentally turn off and then when power restored, not turn on again. As for heaters and AC units, these draw way too much power for the little relays inside. They claim, 15 amps, but that's a huge exaggeration!!! I just repaired one of these smart plugs yesterday. It got wet and shorted out. But, the relay inside is TINY! Sure, their contacts are "rated" for 15 amps and they COULD handle that for a short period of time, but THEY WILL OVERHEAT AND BURN UP!!!! In fact, I wouldn't trust them on 15 Amps for anything. They contacts inside these relays are so small and each time they turn on or off, with a huge current draw, a little SPARK happens (this is normal for relays) and that spark WILL burn up the contacts... this gets very messy and dangerous.

Your video is informative as I for one, didn't know that Kasa made a monitoring version of these wonderful plugs. Whether or not you are "promoting" is moot. Who cares! You vid was good.

@@dondeeee Oh it's the same with Google Home! In fact, Google Home will sometimes trigger with audio from the television, even though the words, "Key Google" or "Ok Google" were never spoken. When this happens, I have to specifically tell Google that we didn't talk to it. It's a training thing. Some mean people could have fun with this, however. Imagine that you're running a video and some meany says, 'Hey Google! Order me 10 deluxe pizzas!" or something like that. LOL I don't actively use Alexa, but I did install it due to a smart watch that I have that uses Alexa but not Google Home. I can say this, I am NOT impressed with Alexa at all!! Compared to Google Home, Alexa is a dumbass. LOL I'll ask it something and most of the time it returns with, "I don't have an answer for that" or "I didn't hear you properly" or some such BS. LOL
