It's amazing. It even gives a detailed solution checklist if some mods misses something or are incompatible instead of an unreadable error log. And ofc how it treats the creators. I got rid of Curseforge immediately and have nothing but good things to say about Modrinth

I think my only nitpick with Modrinth is how it doesn't really recognize Quilt's compatibility with Fabric mods. It, by default, doesn't show you Fabric's much larger library unless you select to override the launcher in your search. I also think it would be nice if they automatically added Quilted Fabric API if you tried to add a Fabric mod in a Quilt profile. I also don't like how it doesn't add a mod's dependencies if it isn't compatible

Good point on the home page. Maybe a feature of the week or mods of a featured theme might be a good idea. For example, aquatic mods could have Aquamarine, Creatures From the Deep, Eureka Ships, etc. Of course, you'd want to rotate through the themes frequently, otherwise you risk the same issue of becoming stale that it already has.

I randomly decided to use Modrinth and it gave me almost 200 fps more when using the same mods on the vanilla launcher. Not only that but it made my textures a lot nicer since sodium doesn't have an anti-aliasing feature. It's so easy to add mods mid gaming session. So 10/10

I'd use it full time if it had the multimc (and it's forks (I personally use prism launcher)) feature of being able to create a desktop shortcut of packs, (which I can then add to steam as their own non-steam games on my steam deck)

I think a way to improve the Home Screen would be with pack categories. Ie have top magic packs, top tech, top quest etc. and have some deminishing time factors. Or just a roaling time frame (ie how many players a pack has had in the past 30 days)

I really like the modrinth launcher, the only problem I have with it is that it sometimes takes very long for new versions of minecraft or even just fml/fabric/... to become accessible in the launcher. For example right now, I'm working on compiling a modpack for my friends and me to play but there is one mod in the pack I have to use an outdated version of, because the newer version requires Forge 1.20.1-47.3.0. The newest 1.20.1 fml version available in the launcher as of writing this is 47.2.17. (looking at their github it seems they have already fixed it but they just didn't release the patch on the release channel yet...)

I used lunar client because i had a potato pc and of the fps boost, BUT it was not enough, but with modrinth, it has so many more fps mods. When i go into hypixel lobby, i get like 40 to 50 fps now But with the lunar client, i get 20 to 10 fps in the lobby

I'm so happy about modrinth being so popular but honestly, it does the bare minimum for a launcher, like the live shaders and resource pack addition isn't even any work from them, Minecraft already does it. I can drag a file in the resources and it would work the same. Honestly, I think launchers and mod websites should remain separate, take Prism Launcher, or MultiMC, with those I can install all the mods from every website. Also, the need of an additional account other than my minecraft(now Microsoft) account Sure, Modrinth launcher looks pretty, but you're not playing the launcher, you're playing the game Besides, Prism and MultiMC aren't ugly, they just don't have the "modern" style of other launchers MultiMC and Prism also have really cool settings for auto detecting java versions and stuff. I know it's new, but I can already see the direction they want to go for, and it's fine.. but it's just not as optimal

HAHAHA the login was sooooo annoying but I got the hang of it so basically there’s 2 logins one for ur Minecraft account ie ur Microsoft account located on the top left of the screen and then the modrinth account which you can sign in/create in the settings but clicking the on sign in with Google was bugging me out at times. But like you said after it’s all working it’s such a good launcher !

Isn't Curseforge the same? Like everything you can do in Modrinth, you can also do in Curseforge. Some Mods are only available on Modrinth, but there are also some Mods only available on Curseforge (of course you can add mods trough the folder). So what loader should I use, they have the same features and mods that are only available on there app.

Modrinth has more performance and client side mods, and Curseforge is more single player mods, Modrinth also has data packs and plugins, and Curseforge is also dying.

10:27 So those login errors that you were getting "captcha" and "challenge tokens" is basically those check boxes that check if you are a robot. Except here, Modrinth isn't showing you the Captcha, and just tries to submit without completing the Captcha, so it will obviously fail
