hi, kasey! these are actually acrlya gouaches! they're different than regular gouaches in that they don't rewet when left to dry out. they are able to be dilutted with water, but when theyre dry, they dry like acrylics! @@rentensp since that comment I have both now!! started off with gouache- I put the colors in a palette that I just rewet whenever I wanna use it. tbh I like both acrylic gouache and regular gouache a lot, just depends what I am using it for 😅definitely a tricky medium to use, still experimenting!
@rentensp Жыл бұрын
@@KawaiiCornz I love gouache so much and I just ordered some acrylic gouache but I am kind of nervous because I historically do not like acrylic paint. 😅🙃 And some people think it is more like acrylic and some people say it is like gouache except for the drying water resistant aspect. I guess I will find out if I like it or not once I get it!
@KawaiiCornz Жыл бұрын
@@rentensp understandable haha! when I used to use acrylic paint, I liked it better when I watered it down and used it like watercolors lol. in general, naturally opaque mediums have always been harder for me to get right😅(it’s been a little while since I’ve used acrylic gouache but) personally I think it’s pretty similar to gouache, maybe a tad thicker, but I like the advantage of being able to layer things without worrying about the colors blending together underneath. I think you did a great job! it is really just going into the same planning as you would with an Posca pen type illustration. The Holbein Acrlya line is my favourite. Just for the flexibility, can be diluted. Dries matte and pretty fast. And you are correct they are STUPID EXPENSIVE in Canada. One tube of Series A can cost $8 I have tried Gouche and Watercolours... I keep going back to Acrlya. I personally do not like Acrylic 'acrylic' cause some (most) are have a shiny finish.
