"Doodle" For god's sake Scott that's a full piece it only took you 90 minutes because of the medium and techniques and the literal decades of experience you carry around.

Gouache is so much fun to play with. Being able to lay down opaque layers, blend, and lay down transparent washes with the same medium is really user friendly. It’s like oil paint and watercolor had a baby, and gave us the best of both worlds

It’s very unique and interesting (in a good way) how you paint/layer mediums. I find it cool how you layer different colors that don’t seem like that they are there and it turns out so good.

I also am not a fan of the texture of acrylic. Even though it dries fast, I have trouble seeing if it's still wet, since it's still shiny when dried. Also, may I suggest a video on how to properly dispose paint water? I feel like it's a topic that isn't talked about much, since it's not a very glamorous topic.

Hey there! Have you decided what medium to do for Friday's video? You could do acrylics or acryla-guache, since it's something you have some experience with that. I don't know how much you like other mediums like graphite or crayons... I remember you don't like pastels! 😅

The way you color is so magical. The way you take a large variety of colors and slap them together to make a beautifully unique, yet cohesive piece is amazing. My favorite part is that it isn't magic at all. It's an accumulation of practice and skills to make any piece in any medium stunning - Also, the gloss thing speaks to me the more I think of it. It makes me think of posters or books that have a gloss that is a bit tacky(?) so if you rub it too hard it creates an awful squeak/rubbing sensation.

Gouache is my favorite! And I've been learning how to mix media lately. I like to start with a layer of watercolor, then add gouache, and then go in areas and soften them with soft pastels or define areas with dip pens and ink. I will also start with a pale blue pencil and not erase it, and I love the character it gives when you can subtly still see it at the end.

Hey Scott! This video helped me a lot! I don’t really use gouache very much, and I’m starting to use it more than I used too. This video really helped me understand gouache just that little bit more! I was wondering, as someone who just is obsessed with watercolour pencils, if you could maybe try them out! I’m fairly new to your KZbin so I’m not sure if you have tried them already. If you haven’t I would really recommend them! They help a lot with adding that extra bit of detail, and can make masterpieces just by themselves! Thanks so much for making these videos!

Hey Scott, this came out very nice 😊 You inspired me to try making the skin looking more vibrant and interesting so I tried to use more pinks and blues and purples and yellows and greens (...) in a digital portrait, but it just looked like he was beaten up 😅 I would love to know more about the way you're choosing where the colours makes sense. 😊 And I have a suggestion for you: There are waterbased oil paints from schminke. The line is called Norma blue and it is all vegan and environment friendly. Maybe you would like to try them or did you already do or heard of it? :) I haven't tried them but I plan to do. I want to try new mediums to hopefully find something to bring my passion about art back to life 😁 Thank you so much for always encouraging us ❤🤗 Greetings 🍀

Oh! I hoped you would do this video ❤ I get confused. You have talked about gouache and then acrylic gouache, and I am never sure when looking at your portfolio which you are using, and what is best. I’m thinking this video is standard gouache? Is it harder or easier with gouache to get the right level of water, than with watercolour? I struggle and I’m never sure if it’s too much water, or not enough. I was thinking of experimenting with gouache but I don’t know what kind to get. Regular or acrylic, as while I get the difference between them (acrylic can’t be reactivated) I don’t know what that makes them good for in terms of the types of art they make/how easy they are to use.
