Question: Why do most goalies pick 1, 30, or 31 as their jersey number? I have seen a lot of that lately. Also, how come nobody wears 0, or 00? Is it illegal? Did the league ban those numbers? About the goalie numbers: a long time ago, forwards and defense usually had numbers between below as larger number weren’t popular when hockey was developing. Some goalies chose 30 and other higher up number is bc they saw themselves as the last line of defense. My guess in regards to goalies choosing #1 is that a lot of players didn’t see themselves as the #1 player on the team and the goalie is the most important position.

janchuck in an article it said that each player gets $111 per day for food but only $50 on game day Bc they are provided a meal (but one player did say it mostly gets spent at the card table haha)

Brandon Nykyforak not that much money in the grand scheme of things, probably each have team credit card. They provide so many supplements to the players, and food is like the #1 supplement so it’s probably covered
