...to understand the size of Kasparov's magnificance all you need to do is to realize that such an amazing game including a Queen sacrifice at an early stage of the game against Kramnik(not just an ordinary chess player) is hardly known among chess players all around the world...the reason is that Gary's history is so full of exciting victories that more often than not games of such quality and perfection are somehow crowded out by even more substantial performances!

@davidcopson5800
@davidcopson5800 4 жыл бұрын
@JediNxf7 I don't get the point you are trying to make. I watched a video (above) and commented that I preferred on this occasion that the presenter did not keep stopping the flow of the game to digress with frequent analysis (a point which seemed to be shared by original comment maker 'rr279f'). Why are you referring to score sheets?
@davidcopson5800
@davidcopson5800 4 жыл бұрын
@JediNxf7 Okay, I see what you are saying. However, I don't seek out online score sheets or chess data base. I came here, watched a video of a game that was very satisfactory to me, and appreciated it all the more because (and this is where you seem to have a problem with me) it did NOT diverge into analysis that interrupted the flow of the actual game. It may seem odd to you that I prefer this but there it is. I believe also that I am not alone in this preference. I can appreciate the game well enough without constant explanations of what other lines might have been played. For the record I can play blindfold chess and remember the moves of games I played without keeping notation for a couple of days and write them down after the game from memory. I am not sure if this helps me to appreciate a game of chess that is presented in video format or not, but what was served up here by 'agadmator' was absolutely fine by me. I'm glad that you replied as I can now see what your perspective on the situation is.

Indeed. Live play has that element to it. I found you could psych your opponent out with unexpected (and good) moves. With the clock ticking they don't have time to figure everything out. I think Tal used this tactic to great advantage.

I think this is one of the best Queen sacrifices I have ever seen. I enjoyed the 2 last Queen sacrifices by Ratnakaran and Karthikeyan but Kasparov's game looks so much more "clean". I haven't checked this with a computer but just by the way that Kasparov's pieces looked after the Queen sac, I mean they are just beautiful. I think its curtain that 100 from now we will look at games like these since I believe that Queen sacrifices would become more frequent in the future.

At 5:34 The best Move is Bg4 or (Bdg4) however your name it. I would play that in 1st instant. Also Helps to prevent the Reh3 ideas ( a move played later)

? I thought this video contained almost no substantive analysis. Sparsely populated with brief, superficial strategical observations, and almost no subvariations or genuine attempts to explain the moves. This style of presentation is the fast food version of chess instruction. Tailor made for weak players who want to stay that way
