shes an AMAZING jumper! and let me tell you, it sure is refreshing to see somebody where something besides a skating dress for once.. i don't really like her backwards crossovers though, and her spirals could use some work.. other than that, amaazing performance!

Katarina did the easiest SHORT PROGRAM Triple Jump Combination back in 88 at Calgary. This 1994 Jump Combination is even Easier--Triple Toe/double Toe. She really Owned the Judges. Disgraceful, her lack of Technical Skill at this Amateur Level AND at the OLYMPICS!!!💥

Costume deduction occurred, thus the 5.3-5.5 for presentation. She wore legging pants, not tights. Her hips are also exposed and not fully covered, especially her right side.

@mlc2005 oh please. Figure skating isnt a charity case. Do you blame Kwan for trying for a 3rd Olympics (or a 4th if you count Lillehammer as alternate) and potentially depreving some mediocre skater of the Olympic chance. As it was the old legend Witt merely bumped the old journeywomen skater Marina Kiellmann who never won a World medal and is almost the same age, a skater who had already been to 2 Olympics like Witt. Thank goodness granny Witt got the 3rd and not granny stork.

Didn't like this programme much artistically at the time. I guess I couldn't get some of her classic short programmes out of my head, especially Calgary. It has though really grown on me with repeated views. The flying camel spin for instance was exquisitely done to that section of the music. Again I appreciate her step sequence more over time (blame that tap dancing in Calgary). I think the 5.7s were justified.

Female commentator said she missed her combination at Europeans…nope, she fell out of her double axel. Do these commentators not have notes from preparing so they don’t make such obvious mistakes?

What was she thinking. I feel her choice to compete was a selfish act. Lol. Really. This spot could have been for a stronger German skater to represent there country. She could have at lest try ( to re attempt ) a triple loop

Chris Ayala no no no no no! I‘m from West Germany, and no one here thought like you! We felt honored and proud that Katarina would represent Germany at the Olympics. Besides, there had been a fair qualification trials, and there simply wasn‘t any other skater as good as her apart from Tanja Szewczwnko.

I don't have respect for the fact that, after two Olympics, she felt the need to deprive a country woman of hers the chance to compete.
