Honestly Katatonias drummer is so underrated its maddening lol I wish he did more material for himself online. Some of their older albums had incredible riffs and grooves, even before other genres adapted it. His sense of time is great. One of the best bands live from what ive seen online and heard. Wish he did drum cams.

Probably the best song on the album wich is btw a little bit too proggy for my taste. I was so in love with discs like "tonights decision", "the great cold distance" or "night is the new day". ALWAYS have dug these guys and the more they create the more I listen. As for this track. Very interesting composition and extremely tricky time signatures which produce a really solid percussion arrangement. I have always liked the way Jonas infuses that gloom tone in his singing yet has a melodic undertone that balances out the music at the same time. Very progressive tonality to this yet very listenable.

I’ll be 100% honest. I had put off listening to this album for a couple months. I love them so much, their music is just astonishing and hits me in all the feels. I was worried that City Burials might take a turn and tarnish how I feel about them, like Opeth. Sure you still have the old stuff you love, but you want so badly for the new stuff to be just as good. I shouldn’t have worried, this album is truly amazing.
