Your reactions were really nasty. Like several have said, everyone handles grief differently. We all have an opinion about what we would’ve done or how we would react but the reality is we are not her. We don’t know the pain she’s had to deal with over the past 4 months especially with everyone like yourself scrutinizing every little thing and making it seem like she was not in love with him. She lives on social media so she knew that her boyfriend absolutely should not have been left alone in a *foreign* *language* *speaking* country without any support at that particular time. She says they “lived separate lives” but spoke about “their responsibility” of having a dog and that’s the reason she returned to the States…but what about him? What was he still doing in Argentina? Why wasn’t the visa sorted in the 7 days they planned to be there? A visa is the only way he could come home, so wouldn’t you want to at least know that he has it before leaving him behind *thousands* *of* *miles* away in a *foreign* *language* *speaking* country that is clearly difficult to navigate getting around in.

She is not speaking from the truth. Her answers are bizarre, as if she's trying to stick to a certain narrative and keeps forgetting what she's supposed to say. "We were in such a great... full of love..." When you speak from actual true events, it's not fragmented, saying I, then correcting herself with we. Reminds me of Bret Watson's interview. The way she describes the funeral is strange also. Wasn't it the hardest day of your life, saying good bye to him? And she was with her mom??? You could feel Liam in the room with you? Not me or us? I know right? Clearly she has never grieved deeply for anyone in life. Everyone expects people to just be in a ball of tears 24/7. That’s not how it works. If we did that, we would die. Studies have shown that our brains actually monitor our grieving and allow for moments to fall apart while it also protects us by basically redirecting grief in order to allow the time to process. That’s why there are 5 stages of grieving. She’s clearly in the bargaining stage. Probably the least emotional outwards stage but inwards you are wrestling with the what ifs and understanding.

He was an extremely well known artist in the middle of a rising solo career - he probably had an insane schedule that would be difficult for any partner (who should have their own life as well) to keep up with. He was also struggling, which isn’t her business to share with the world, and being a partner of an addict is extremely painful. That doesn’t mean they weren’t close. Unless you’ve been with a partner struggling with addiction, this dynamic probably isn’t comprehensible.

@@gohomekenny I didn’t say I know who you are. I said based on the facial expressions you made, you obviously did not go in with an open mind. Because had you done that, you would not have made faces of disgust and confusion on parts the rest of us (who have dealt with intense grief) felt were completely normal and understandable. From my years and years of dealing with grief, I’ve learned that grief is as unique to each individual as a fingerprint. Studies have shown that our brain is actually incredibly in tune with what we can and can’t handle. Some people fall apart while others keep it in. Some people have to get out and be around people while others become recluse. Some people feel the need to explain how they are feeling vs others who have given up and don’t feel like they don’t need to do that. Her mannerisms and explanations seem completely like someone who has been dealing with so much grief, but is also upset how much people have judged her and her relationship with Liam & also blame her because she had to leave her 31 year old boyfriend who himself is a father and a celebrity to go attend to their dog who needed to be picked up. I think all this scrutiny has made her grieving 100 times worse. I long for the day when females are supportive of other women, instead of acting all catty and jealous by tearing someone to shreds.
