HG really should not be called "morning sickness" at all. I get so angry when people understate it like that. Throwing up all day and barely being able to walk, having to take a leave from work, nearly starving to death, is far from morning sickness. You really can't understand what these women go through unless it's happened to you. Period. And having experienced "morning sickness before" isn't going to cut it. Not the same thing at ALL.

I had HG with both my kids and it was an absolute nightmare. I haven't been able to talk or walk or maintain a full conversation without vomiting, the exhaustion I suffered made me lie in my bed for 9 whole months disconnected from the world, I couldn't bear seing food, I used to throw up just thinking about it or imagining it. I couldn't take my vitamins pills and supplements as I couldn't stand their smell. And whenever I tried to close my nose to take them I ended up vomiting since I couldn't stand the feeling of something touching my tongue or getting near my esophagus. Excessive vomiting damaged my stomach and my esophagus and I ended up suffering severe heartburn, and vomiting blood. My teeth started to crumble and 2 of them broke, knowing that I had super healthy teeth before pregnancy. I lost 18 kilograms during my pregnancy and went from 60 to 42, and regained 4 kilograms during the last 5 weeks. For all women out there suffering from HG: I feel you and I pray for you.

I’m going thru it for the second time. I thought maybe i had bad luck with my first pregnancy cause people say that every pregnancy is different but now i just think HG is engraved in my DNA. And this time is hitting me stronger...this is not morning sickness this is not normal

I had HG with my son and I am AGAIN going through it right now with my 2nd pregnancy. it is nothing like Morning Sickness (which I have only witnessed), I've had people tell me to just "eat through it" or "work through it" and all I want to do is slap them in the face cuz believe me: If I COULD I would! I have already been hospitalized once and am only at week 10 and if history serves... I still got about over 2.5 more months of this nightmare. To all Mothers who have gone through or are going through HG - just remember what the finish line gives you, it won't be forever and the end result is the most beautiful and miraculous experience that will erase all the suffering. ♡ stay strong and hang in there!

I’m currently 7 months pregnant I’ve been dealing with this since I’ve became pregnant and still today I vomit food. I’ve been in and out the hospital on IVs constantly. It’s depressing, makes you feel disgusting, I spit all day long I sit next to a garbage can or if I go out I have a bottle. It’s terrible when you have doctors or people don’t understand you smh.. I don’t want anymore kids.. babies are beautiful but for me I don’t get to enjoy the happiness of being pregnant. I drink water I vomit, I been on apple juice, IVs, apples sometimes and watermelon sometimes I can even eat at all STILL. It is not regular morning sickness, your literary suffering for your child to get here it’s so hard to enjoy the pregnancy, from not being able to hold down water even had to take antibiotics due to infections.. it’s not easy..I had to immediately take medical leave off work I was so miserable.

I suffered from Hyperemesis during my pregnancy and it was PURE hell. It is not morning sickness, it was whole day sickness and I suffered from it throughout my entire pregnancy. I couldn't hold any fluid or food down and I was hospitalized 6 times. It was a pregnancy from hell which explains my son is an only child. Suffering from Hyperemesis was so traumatic for me. None of the medications worked for me so I had an extreme case of Hyperemesis for 9 months. I hope Kate fares better than I did.

i cant believe all the disgusting comments made some of these people. I'v had severe morning sickness, ALL DAY and its the most disgusting feeling ever. I couldnt eat or drink anything. when i did it came up right away. Pregnancy in the early stages is so difficult. Anyone who made a negative comment should be ashamed of themselves. Why dont you all go ask your own mothers what they went through to bring you into this world. Better yet try it yourself! insensitive idiots!

Every doctor should care about his patient. I wish I can meet that doctor again to tel how much I needed his help cause I was in pain,dehydrated and very very week.

How do you know? No one knows what the sex of the baby is yet. No one knows what they will name it once it arrives, only them. So, how do you know? Are you royal? Or a palace insider?

Another thing, you're correct about Kate keeping a very low profile and not showing off in public. Kate not trying to grab public attention is like chips without fish. It's just not her style, she's definitely keeping herself hidden.

My birth mom had complicated pregnancies worse than HG, and to make matters worse she had a kidney infection in which caused me born prematurely. I've never had children however if I were ever pregnant I could even more debilitating conditions' and therefore at 38 years old I could have increased risk of post-pregnancy hemorrhaging as I already suffered throughout Menometrorrhagia which is prolonged and heavy menstrual bleeding as it can worsens towards perimenopause. and one great grandma's bled to death after a miscarriage within the stage of perimenopause plus after a pregnancy heavy bleeds can worsen as well without ever having one in life. Perhaps my mom could've had HG.

I believe your comment to be spot on! I had also remarked (when learning of Kate in hospital), that it was not due to morning sickness of any kind, but rather her making herself sick, or refusing to eat, as she is clearly an anorexic. She was most likely in hospital with a feeding tube inserted as the baby was at tremendous risk without nutrients to keep it alive. I also think that the nurse who "committed suicide" was bumped off for letting that private information out.

Trust Kate to get hyperemesis! And believe me, she's gonna have it real bad....the ENTIRE PREGNANCY. Yep, real bad. Chuck chuck chuck, with very little weight gain. Poor girl!

I wonder if those woman that are working in paddy fields have time for hyperemesis gravidarum or all the other woman in third world countries that are working right up to the actual birth get the luxury of HG care ?
@ShipsKat4 жыл бұрын
You're spot on. Western medicine, has lowered maternal & infant mortality rates. Antenatal classes, birth plans, paid family leave etc ARE luxuries, women in developing countries, can't even dream of. Yearly, an average of 300,000 women, in the world die, due to pregnancy & birth complications. With poorest countries fairing worst. In some countries up to 1/3, of maternal deaths, are caused by preeclampsia, or dehydration, electrolyte & vitamin deficiencies, or malnutrition, caused by HG. So, it's not that women in paddy fields, don't have *time* for HG care. It's more like, if the vomiting is intractable, & the woman is not hydrated for >4 straight days, she'll die. In developed countries, HG is very rarely fatal. Women are likely to need IV fluids & electrolytes, at least once during pregnancy. Some women, will "ham up" sickness; but if they're sitting up, on their phones, chatting, eating &/or drinking anything, or even able to turn over in bed, without retching; they're *not* in the throes of HG. Hope that gave you greater insight. If not, please accept my gift of something to read, that's guaranteed to send you to sleep. :-)
