Kate, you inspired me to write a poem about this tragedy. A gentle breeze wafted when a flimsy boat set sail with fifty migrants crammed in, but only for a while. The promised land isn't far, everyone was told be brave, accept the challenge, your folks are getting old. The promised land has plenty, it's there that you'll be rich but the flimsy boat was rolling as waves increased the pitch. Out of the craft they tumbled into the deep blue sea now bodies on a shoreline where dreams of hope should be.

Just doesn't get the recognition she deserves. Her performances are so wonderful and she sounds as good live as her brilliant recordings. Love you Kate. Keep safe and well.

There's a big lump in my throat as I type this. Lovely song, Kate, and lively rendition. I have seen that woman's face my whole life long beginning with photos of "displaced persons" following WWII. They were a bit before my time, but thwre were pica in my achool, showing how generous Canada was in taking them in. Later came the boat people from Vietnam, and so many others since. You have told an eternal story so beautifully. Ten thumbs up.

Sat here with tears streaming down my cheeks. Beautiful song, so relevant right now, in a world where people seem to be forgetting that we are all human, regardless of circumstances, and we all deserve to have a little hope with all the hate and pain. I had the privilege to see you perform in Worthing last year, and I greatly look forward to seeing you again in the near future

Me too - and I feel the same way. I'm a migrant from Kate's neck of the woods living in Japan, Every insult I hear directed towards immigrants in the UK makes me flinch on behalf of migrants everywhere.

I had the privilege of seeing you perform this on the first night of your tour in Stafford. A wonderfully moving song that brought the audience to tears. And your comment, "I don't have answers - I only have a song" was equally as heartfelt and honest as the lyrics and melody. Thank you for sharing :)

Dear Kate, I was one of e volunteers who 'entertained' e Vietnamese boat people. None of them were in Harms' Way n when we went out none was left in e camp per 🏠 house.House #5 for unaccompanied minors in Singapore, under my watch. I'm a big fan of Kate. I love her voice and this is wonderful. She does deserve far wider recognition and there certainly are much less talented individuals who are more famous. However you are being unfair on Ed Sheeran by using him as a contrast. Maybe he has become too big in this social media dominated world in which we live but he is actually very talented as well, so using him is a bad illustration of the point you are making.

I think it's criminal when parents take their tiny children who can't swim yet out onto the open sea on inflatable boats. These parents are endangering the lives of these children. I think the youth welfare office should step in and take the children away from these horror parents and they should be severely punished!
